In Masterforce, Powermaster Optimus Prime was remolded and slightly repainted into Super Ginrai, who makes up half of the combined God Ginrai figure with Godbomber. I only had the giftset, but he was also available separately without Godbomber.</p><p> <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jUA2ETJ70Ew/X5iLi9via0I/AAAAAAAAE2w/EbGQQ8tSjPIhQhhpBCIg8ZpKjG7w8aOigCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/God%2BGinrai%2BMIB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1987" data-original-width="2048" height="620" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jUA2ETJ70Ew/X5iLi9via0I/AAAAAAAAE2w/EbGQQ8tSjPIhQhhpBCIg8ZpKjG7w8aOigCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h620/God%2BGinrai%2BMIB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div> <p></p><p></p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p>If you are interested in the differences between Ginrai and PM Prime, I did a comparison <a href="http://brr-icy.blogspot.com/2015/06/powermaster-optimus-prime.html">Here.</a></p><p> He's got all the same features as Powermaster Prime plus the retractable fists. I really like the silver colour they went with for the trailer instead of the dull gray and the chrome and paint additions on the trailer, making the figure stand out much better. <br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L1uTUM-qsdE/X5iMhKz3aLI/AAAAAAAAE24/2JZ4EWQ5JnkABUJjFlQlbNFswP4o8LEFACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/ginraia_8584882908_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1451" data-original-width="2048" height="454" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L1uTUM-qsdE/X5iMhKz3aLI/AAAAAAAAE24/2JZ4EWQ5JnkABUJjFlQlbNFswP4o8LEFACLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h454/ginraia_8584882908_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /> In the base mode, not much difference<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7rVYuwaRfJw/X5iM8mmLQ3I/AAAAAAAAE3A/eryWeCSRqAE3EOSmsYrJtCKU6kUbkXnwwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/ginrabase_8583784265_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1394" data-original-width="2048" height="436" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7rVYuwaRfJw/X5iM8mmLQ3I/AAAAAAAAE3A/eryWeCSRqAE3EOSmsYrJtCKU6kUbkXnwwCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h436/ginrabase_8583784265_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>The Godbomber figure is an add on for the combined mode, unfortunately I don't have a photo handy of the truck mode, he becomes an additional trailer which you can see in the boxed picture above. He is a parts-former, the arms, wings, chest, back, and legs are all separate parts. He's roughly the same size as Super Ginrai. <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1Y_c0m8PF3M/X5iN8p9xOGI/AAAAAAAAE3Q/Itd0uEo9nawPfPt5zChxuP8ti_izPetAACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/godbomber_8583781869_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1798" data-original-width="2048" height="562" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1Y_c0m8PF3M/X5iN8p9xOGI/AAAAAAAAE3Q/Itd0uEo9nawPfPt5zChxuP8ti_izPetAACLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h562/godbomber_8583781869_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>When combined, he's massive, and very solid. I am quite fond of the figure overall. He doesn't have a lot of articulation, he can raise his arms, do the splits and look down. He's barely able to fit in a detolf shelf. <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-orjYlNfS9X0/X5iO1bZOk0I/AAAAAAAAE3c/aT13RZFMkdU8O2vEWoYVKG4Sy71Bohe-wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1804/godginraib_8583780159_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1804" data-original-width="1460" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-orjYlNfS9X0/X5iO1bZOk0I/AAAAAAAAE3c/aT13RZFMkdU8O2vEWoYVKG4Sy71Bohe-wCLcBGAsYHQ/w518-h640/godginraib_8583780159_o.jpg" width="518" /></a></div>Brr-icyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01885375620574712826noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1969038366983027688.post-71086084112064748962019-12-20T06:37:00.000-08:002019-12-20T06:37:16.226-08:00Classic PretendersThere was a set of four Pretenders based off early years characters. These seemed to be mostly picked randomly, with at least a couple of them missing easy repaints or remolds.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PgyWX-WOtRM/XfzZZdzBRfI/AAAAAAAAEhY/h01ubXMZ9pAS8hh56D9MW7oclbbOgCh6QCEwYBhgL/s1600/Pretender%2BBumblebee%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1583" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PgyWX-WOtRM/XfzZZdzBRfI/AAAAAAAAEhY/h01ubXMZ9pAS8hh56D9MW7oclbbOgCh6QCEwYBhgL/s640/Pretender%2BBumblebee%2BB.JPG" width="632" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a>First, we have Bumblebee. He looks more like his cartoon self than the original toy, with a random human shell. The transformation on Bee is a little more involved with the center of the hood folding behind his back to allow for separation of the feet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wtl0nOb-jkQ/XfzZY43wkiI/AAAAAAAAEhk/WDUWVINeEb8TJ0xnQa-j6GzlFQrZ1lQYACEwYBhgL/s1600/Pretender%2BBumblebee%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1388" data-original-width="1600" height="554" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wtl0nOb-jkQ/XfzZY43wkiI/AAAAAAAAEhk/WDUWVINeEb8TJ0xnQa-j6GzlFQrZ1lQYACEwYBhgL/s640/Pretender%2BBumblebee%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
He retains his Beetle alt mode, but loses some of the chibi look of the minicar.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8pHyCnHOzDk/XfzZcR2RvdI/AAAAAAAAEhk/Gv0U0xqEJWIK6o4R3kkPlrWKq7Lu_FDugCEwYBhgL/s1600/pretender-jazz-b_11741322543_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1459" data-original-width="1600" height="582" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8pHyCnHOzDk/XfzZcR2RvdI/AAAAAAAAEhk/Gv0U0xqEJWIK6o4R3kkPlrWKq7Lu_FDugCEwYBhgL/s640/pretender-jazz-b_11741322543_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Jazz also gains a human shell. Instead of the more complicated transformation that Bee gains, he loses most of the steps and in turn, loses a lot of the coolness of the original toy. The chest sits very high, covering a lot of his face, and he's basically a block from the waist down.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hm5Qe717kF0/XfzZaFHVWoI/AAAAAAAAEhg/NFwHVgYEZbYsPDYBjyToCg8aldq0h-6GwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Pretender%2BGrimlock%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1472" data-original-width="1600" height="588" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hm5Qe717kF0/XfzZaFHVWoI/AAAAAAAAEhg/NFwHVgYEZbYsPDYBjyToCg8aldq0h-6GwCEwYBhgL/s640/Pretender%2BGrimlock%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Grimlock was the third Autobot they did, and he really looks different in bot mode. I enjoy the more ancient human/gladiator looking shell and the gun/sword he has. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j39cnIFZ3qM/XfzZYpWO-2I/AAAAAAAAEhk/4lJmS9kXJj06ssRn2MuSP9zt76Eu-5gVgCEwYBhgL/s1600/Pretender%2BGrimlock%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1359" data-original-width="1600" height="542" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j39cnIFZ3qM/XfzZYpWO-2I/AAAAAAAAEhk/4lJmS9kXJj06ssRn2MuSP9zt76Eu-5gVgCEwYBhgL/s640/Pretender%2BGrimlock%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
His Dino mode is there, but strange. The gun from bot mode becomes his tail.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c4-ZgbF-9j8/XfzZbm99JDI/AAAAAAAAEhc/c1oLK1CacsMZoC27atRLqP6PB_ApsfflACEwYBhgL/s1600/Pretender%2BStarscream%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1416" data-original-width="1600" height="566" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c4-ZgbF-9j8/XfzZbm99JDI/AAAAAAAAEhc/c1oLK1CacsMZoC27atRLqP6PB_ApsfflACEwYBhgL/s640/Pretender%2BStarscream%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Starscream I really like for some reason. I think if they had added one more step to the transformation to have his cockpit more complete in robot mode, it would have been near perfect. It really retains the look of the cartoon. His shell actually looks mean as well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XVNE6sKzEVs/XfzZaoVu2ZI/AAAAAAAAEhk/0NxedTWTS4gHloWVNU9EInIENIDXtHR6QCEwYBhgL/s1600/Pretender%2BStarscream%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1286" data-original-width="1600" height="514" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XVNE6sKzEVs/XfzZaoVu2ZI/AAAAAAAAEhk/0NxedTWTS4gHloWVNU9EInIENIDXtHR6QCEwYBhgL/s640/Pretender%2BStarscream%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The jet mode is also retained, with a lot less parts forming than the original toy. The pistols become the rear stabilizers. Only one of each faction was released.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pvGMCibSOEs/XfxA9w9OZRI/AAAAAAAAEfo/Cizizg-h2TISv71uvIoFnxlNQMLTCEv7ACEwYBhgL/s1600/gunrunnerb_8625605199_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1288" data-original-width="1600" height="514" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pvGMCibSOEs/XfxA9w9OZRI/AAAAAAAAEfo/Cizizg-h2TISv71uvIoFnxlNQMLTCEv7ACEwYBhgL/s640/gunrunnerb_8625605199_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
Gunrunner was the Autobot one, the part inside the shell's window could fold down so that it looked like the bot was driving it with his head and shoulders visible. When you drive the car, the guns on the turret on top of the car go in and out<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eE29c8-6zu4/XfxA9vGrFLI/AAAAAAAAEfg/AqUfMSnHZKY1hibdQUzUrd3rEX1ApRSZACEwYBhgL/s1600/gunrunnera_8625605477_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1208" data-original-width="1600" height="482" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eE29c8-6zu4/XfxA9vGrFLI/AAAAAAAAEfg/AqUfMSnHZKY1hibdQUzUrd3rEX1ApRSZACEwYBhgL/s640/gunrunnera_8625605477_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The vehicle "mode" for this one is kind of a sham, the tobot yoga bit is stuck on the bottom of the large part from the top of the shell.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PjT5QG3As38/XfxA-aIoUHI/AAAAAAAAEfk/9jO_B8gZCtgthwezuqrZy_HBb74D3U3nwCEwYBhgL/s1600/roadgrabberb_8625601949_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1161" data-original-width="1600" height="464" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PjT5QG3As38/XfxA-aIoUHI/AAAAAAAAEfk/9jO_B8gZCtgthwezuqrZy_HBb74D3U3nwCEwYBhgL/s640/roadgrabberb_8625601949_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Roadgrabber is the Decepticon of the pair, the car mode doesn't have a driver feature like Gunrunner, but it does have the moving guns on the sides that raise and lower and go in and out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LFco1MUqbJ8/XfxA-gpEefI/AAAAAAAAEfo/3pDhkanKHJQ-_ipb9Y-jGef9FGkP5YhGgCEwYBhgL/s1600/roadgrabberc_8626711794_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1538" data-original-width="1600" height="614" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LFco1MUqbJ8/XfxA-gpEefI/AAAAAAAAEfo/3pDhkanKHJQ-_ipb9Y-jGef9FGkP5YhGgCEwYBhgL/s640/roadgrabberc_8626711794_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
the car also does...this? For some odd reason, it's a chariot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9mg1D6a9muw/XfxA9tZehiI/AAAAAAAAEfc/QaTw_wZFmygNord9uyejGPhYT_wIV_1rwCEwYBhgL/s1600/roadgrabbera_8625604271_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1223" data-original-width="1600" height="488" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9mg1D6a9muw/XfxA9tZehiI/AAAAAAAAEfc/QaTw_wZFmygNord9uyejGPhYT_wIV_1rwCEwYBhgL/s640/roadgrabbera_8625604271_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The robot yoga mode for him is more passable than most and he steals the guns from the car to give it wings. They were the first Pretender set I completed years back.<br />
Brr-icyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01885375620574712826noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1969038366983027688.post-26537554407361737782019-12-19T19:31:00.002-08:002019-12-19T19:31:23.680-08:00Mini PretendersMini Pretenders are probably my favorite USA Pretender set. The inner bots aren't just yogaing all over the place. Haha.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PPCsIKeBup8/Xfw8D3JbQgI/AAAAAAAAEek/MU1Wepl0vZ8ldfA9lPAo3pkmjJVPPO-lQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Doubleheader%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1461" data-original-width="1600" height="584" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PPCsIKeBup8/Xfw8D3JbQgI/AAAAAAAAEek/MU1Wepl0vZ8ldfA9lPAo3pkmjJVPPO-lQCEwYBhgL/s640/Doubleheader%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
So the first on the list is Doubleheader, the inner bots are super tiny and the mini guns for the inner bots for all six are easily lost, I would personally not recommend buying them without them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SfMp3zbksnc/Xfw8Df7TZuI/AAAAAAAAEe8/BQCm6Looc40NZN2OWjZ0ijOQuelPByNBgCEwYBhgL/s1600/Doubleheader%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1262" data-original-width="1600" height="504" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SfMp3zbksnc/Xfw8Df7TZuI/AAAAAAAAEe8/BQCm6Looc40NZN2OWjZ0ijOQuelPByNBgCEwYBhgL/s640/Doubleheader%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
They all have a shield that attaches to the shell and then add the small guns to the vehicle modes. It actually looks like a jet instead of a yoga pose.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4BLoCKLNZTw/Xfw8EnZkp-I/AAAAAAAAEe4/6TkerwDj8kg_uZWH1K4fXtQljXMfFb3GACEwYBhgL/s1600/Longtooth%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1323" data-original-width="1600" height="528" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4BLoCKLNZTw/Xfw8EnZkp-I/AAAAAAAAEe4/6TkerwDj8kg_uZWH1K4fXtQljXMfFb3GACEwYBhgL/s640/Longtooth%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Next up is Longtooth, he was the last figure I got to complete my USA G1 line.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qO8z50E0nOg/Xfw8CwyWDGI/AAAAAAAAEe4/STg1EyBlY6g8IKkj-jnkoVCUFAXZx8MegCEwYBhgL/s1600/Longtooth%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1282" data-original-width="1600" height="512" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qO8z50E0nOg/Xfw8CwyWDGI/AAAAAAAAEe4/STg1EyBlY6g8IKkj-jnkoVCUFAXZx8MegCEwYBhgL/s640/Longtooth%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The truck mode is interesting to say the least. the entire red part is the shield that goes on the back of the shell.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sdDJLiEIu6U/Xfw8FtYHK9I/AAAAAAAAEfA/rrr2RNyFxlU5LGCG9Pbr1R0kaZqSUDlOACEwYBhgL/s1600/Pincher%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1418" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sdDJLiEIu6U/Xfw8FtYHK9I/AAAAAAAAEfA/rrr2RNyFxlU5LGCG9Pbr1R0kaZqSUDlOACEwYBhgL/s640/Pincher%2BB.JPG" width="566" /></a></div>
<br />
The third Autobot pretender is Pincher. I really like the inner bot on him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p1CUSm9e8sI/Xfw8FF0vdKI/AAAAAAAAEe8/sKfXd9KS9W8y9E_qORKAazIq-y7hojjUgCEwYBhgL/s1600/Pincher%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1278" data-original-width="1600" height="510" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p1CUSm9e8sI/Xfw8FF0vdKI/AAAAAAAAEe8/sKfXd9KS9W8y9E_qORKAazIq-y7hojjUgCEwYBhgL/s640/Pincher%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The legs and tail are the shield part, I do have a soft spot for scorpion formers.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i7Zas83TDcY/Xfw669y3NiI/AAAAAAAAEeE/sPm9A2VWar4PTP53Q9QjGh6hzIMlJkWewCEwYBhgL/s1600/bludgeonb_8626714238_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1591" data-original-width="1600" height="636" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i7Zas83TDcY/Xfw669y3NiI/AAAAAAAAEeE/sPm9A2VWar4PTP53Q9QjGh6hzIMlJkWewCEwYBhgL/s640/bludgeonb_8626714238_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The first and most important of the Decepticons is Bludgeon. He's had numerous figures and stories about him<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3gYb4oDoe14/Xfw65Nwz0pI/AAAAAAAAEeM/Wce1GXd-uDsHoHrMZltqoDibc9lhLXErgCEwYBhgL/s1600/bludgeona_8625606163_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1120" data-original-width="1464" height="488" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3gYb4oDoe14/Xfw65Nwz0pI/AAAAAAAAEeM/Wce1GXd-uDsHoHrMZltqoDibc9lhLXErgCEwYBhgL/s640/bludgeona_8625606163_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The tank mode is pretty neat, the turret is the arm shield.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-am2QqZPEv6k/Xfw65turs-I/AAAAAAAAEeA/nerDka7ImbgKs-5uRghvpsqlmLXqrpz4QCEwYBhgL/s1600/Octopunch%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1532" data-original-width="1600" height="612" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-am2QqZPEv6k/Xfw65turs-I/AAAAAAAAEeA/nerDka7ImbgKs-5uRghvpsqlmLXqrpz4QCEwYBhgL/s640/Octopunch%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Second is Octopunch. The head is so creepy looking.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a54xg-8WuQo/Xfw66BCpjNI/AAAAAAAAEeA/s73Lx7EJrH0I83nixY5crw77IiTVvQ8MgCEwYBhgL/s1600/Octopunch%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1286" data-original-width="1600" height="514" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a54xg-8WuQo/Xfw66BCpjNI/AAAAAAAAEeA/s73Lx7EJrH0I83nixY5crw77IiTVvQ8MgCEwYBhgL/s640/Octopunch%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The crab mode is awesome, unfortunately the legs have a tiny tab on them that breaks very easily.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lOF2-5VDKeM/Xfw67Gyfw-I/AAAAAAAAEeM/jeD8Pe0OX6okeWRK4V5_BDOHjR_7mTctwCEwYBhgL/s1600/stranglehold-b_12531049004_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1400" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lOF2-5VDKeM/Xfw67Gyfw-I/AAAAAAAAEeM/jeD8Pe0OX6okeWRK4V5_BDOHjR_7mTctwCEwYBhgL/s640/stranglehold-b_12531049004_o.jpg" width="560" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Stranglehold is pretty cool looking, Burt Reynolds He-man wannabe lol</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w4L03mQIs7w/Xfw66y3DmOI/AAAAAAAAEeI/3yIDA9Zgj4MdrN-ugsSu7lVCn1lu60q2QCEwYBhgL/s1600/stranglehold-a_12531049344_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1289" data-original-width="1600" height="514" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w4L03mQIs7w/Xfw66y3DmOI/AAAAAAAAEeI/3yIDA9Zgj4MdrN-ugsSu7lVCn1lu60q2QCEwYBhgL/s640/stranglehold-a_12531049344_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

These guys all have an animal molded into their chests.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xtV4DguK5h0/Xfw4aacKlNI/AAAAAAAAEc8/53Hb43W6Z3wo7us9h92QcTvFwKUgucs-gCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Groundshaker%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1264" data-original-width="1600" height="504" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xtV4DguK5h0/Xfw4aacKlNI/AAAAAAAAEc8/53Hb43W6Z3wo7us9h92QcTvFwKUgucs-gCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/Groundshaker%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a>First up is Groundshaker, The tiger body is his signature. Not bad looking shells for these guys<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HtgyPwT6B6M/Xfw4Znnch7I/AAAAAAAAEdQ/n6iHM5Gn9FEI0FFgGuGoxzYcc1qbt8HKACEwYBhgL/s1600/Groundshaker%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1326" data-original-width="1600" height="530" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HtgyPwT6B6M/Xfw4Znnch7I/AAAAAAAAEdQ/n6iHM5Gn9FEI0FFgGuGoxzYcc1qbt8HKACEwYBhgL/s640/Groundshaker%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
The robot yoga pose he has is basically the same as Landshaker.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z8QmhKT07k0/Xfw4kPeZU9I/AAAAAAAAEdE/JHPY6WVcGC4NY8UqwfkeE3q6P6s06BlOwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Splashdown_B.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z8QmhKT07k0/Xfw4kPeZU9I/AAAAAAAAEdE/JHPY6WVcGC4NY8UqwfkeE3q6P6s06BlOwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/Splashdown_B.jpg" width="614" /></a></div>
<br />
Splashdown is the shark chested one of the group. He's got a strange stumpy inner bot. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Brw0cTRZWUg/Xfw4jT_UleI/AAAAAAAAEdM/BeG7QcLklWkJwS9OC2tCpQDQUZqYb-rVwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Splashdown_A.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1267" data-original-width="1600" height="506" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Brw0cTRZWUg/Xfw4jT_UleI/AAAAAAAAEdM/BeG7QcLklWkJwS9OC2tCpQDQUZqYb-rVwCEwYBhgL/s640/Splashdown_A.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
The robot yoga pose he has going on is pretty strange, think it's supposed to be a water vehicle. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E0w5zOMnFmY/Xfw41Xr8F5I/AAAAAAAAEdU/I-1KZYJmPXQO6IGHLcIkcUvrilRdYN12wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/skyhigh-b_21398249026_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1483" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E0w5zOMnFmY/Xfw41Xr8F5I/AAAAAAAAEdU/I-1KZYJmPXQO6IGHLcIkcUvrilRdYN12wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/skyhigh-b_21398249026_o.jpg" width="592" /></a></div>
<br />
Sky High is the bird chest looking one with the anorexic inner bot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0QKqM_eaJnk/Xfw42NgMXtI/AAAAAAAAEdg/RQSeQn4Av3s97pQiQMNpfp_o3nOoBE0HACEwYBhgL/s1600/skyhigh-a_21432919261_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1090" data-original-width="1600" height="434" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0QKqM_eaJnk/Xfw42NgMXtI/AAAAAAAAEdg/RQSeQn4Av3s97pQiQMNpfp_o3nOoBE0HACEwYBhgL/s640/skyhigh-a_21432919261_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
He robot yogas into a helicopter thing that couldn't fly if it wanted to lolBrr-icyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01885375620574712826noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1969038366983027688.post-91956540971252766452019-12-19T18:52:00.003-08:002019-12-19T18:52:37.768-08:00Decepticon Monster Pretenders Wave 2The second wave of regular Pretenders for 88 were really hard to find, and thanks to that, they're pretty expensive to get now as far as USA G1<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vviHmn9l-Sk/Xfw1kx_cMLI/AAAAAAAAEcU/QVGhFB_ZeBIwDBnubS-tfP4WyLj9TeePQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Bugly%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1345" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vviHmn9l-Sk/Xfw1kx_cMLI/AAAAAAAAEcU/QVGhFB_ZeBIwDBnubS-tfP4WyLj9TeePQCEwYBhgL/s640/Bugly%2BB.JPG" width="538" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a>First up is Bugly, He had a strange bug for a shell. The robot looked pretty cool as far as regular pretenders go.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1T-PtA7S9Rg/Xfw1kGcXkaI/AAAAAAAAEck/B_QtKB9y2gQ1GRyY03npBf3u4ME8Oz5UwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Bugly%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1236" data-original-width="1600" height="494" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1T-PtA7S9Rg/Xfw1kGcXkaI/AAAAAAAAEck/B_QtKB9y2gQ1GRyY03npBf3u4ME8Oz5UwCEwYBhgL/s640/Bugly%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The robot-yoga pose for him is ok at best lol.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LMtOwyEHejE/Xfw1lXwxWDI/AAAAAAAAEcw/g3r4Q4uMIjwR8MqDulrkzVmrDzeasEonwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Finback%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1540" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LMtOwyEHejE/Xfw1lXwxWDI/AAAAAAAAEcw/g3r4Q4uMIjwR8MqDulrkzVmrDzeasEonwCEwYBhgL/s640/Finback%2BB.JPG" width="616" /></a></div>
<br />
Finback is a fish thing with a pretty bulky looking inner bot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A2hy8OBKXlA/Xfw1kgB9ixI/AAAAAAAAEcw/0F6UNQf_JkQneUkTM4BKLJM4H3to9KKTACEwYBhgL/s1600/Finback%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1308" data-original-width="1600" height="522" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A2hy8OBKXlA/Xfw1kgB9ixI/AAAAAAAAEcw/0F6UNQf_JkQneUkTM4BKLJM4H3to9KKTACEwYBhgL/s640/Finback%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Robot yoga pose for him is pretty reminiscent of Submarauder and Waverider.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qtdh9gkPPAM/Xfw1moeo8UI/AAAAAAAAEcs/HG-ZYHHZkOASEfgYH3t5Z4mrvMTGVs8JwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Iguanus%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1529" data-original-width="1600" height="610" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qtdh9gkPPAM/Xfw1moeo8UI/AAAAAAAAEcs/HG-ZYHHZkOASEfgYH3t5Z4mrvMTGVs8JwCEwYBhgL/s640/Iguanus%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Iguanus is pretty nice shell-wise, the inner bot is...strange looking with the rounded arms and tiny waist.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C9piRn04B9E/Xfw1lk-Vq6I/AAAAAAAAEco/tytemDhppXEj5ZqrFz3rDCpH1oEtgqAxwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Iguanus%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1284" data-original-width="1600" height="512" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C9piRn04B9E/Xfw1lk-Vq6I/AAAAAAAAEco/tytemDhppXEj5ZqrFz3rDCpH1oEtgqAxwCEwYBhgL/s640/Iguanus%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's robot yoga pose is better than most, even if you have to add all the wheels to the bottom. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Next up is the 1990 Decepticon Patrols, They only did two Patrols for the Decepticons that year. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GkMn4SJf-_Y/XfwrDLB8Y_I/AAAAAAAAEbs/00fDjKLwp3U77ccBiWLCbXh94-nODhBxACEwYBhgL/s1600/militarypa_8509893805_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="477" data-original-width="1600" height="190" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GkMn4SJf-_Y/XfwrDLB8Y_I/AAAAAAAAEbs/00fDjKLwp3U77ccBiWLCbXh94-nODhBxACEwYBhgL/s640/militarypa_8509893805_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>First up is the Military Patrol (R to L) Dropshot, Growl, Bombshock, and Tracer. Tracer's props and Growl's gun are removable and easily lost. <br /><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XPYqtwJqqbI/XfwrDeoSdPI/AAAAAAAAEbw/7FWprmzrETwVsSOageu5BTxxJTgt1FLrgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/militarypb_8511001210_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="818" data-original-width="1600" height="326" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XPYqtwJqqbI/XfwrDeoSdPI/AAAAAAAAEbw/7FWprmzrETwVsSOageu5BTxxJTgt1FLrgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/militarypb_8511001210_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In bot mode, they look pretty sweet, one of my favorite patrols. Growl got a figure in Fansproject Warcry which makes a perfect Masterpiece. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FNS3U1QhGgU/XfwrChzZEKI/AAAAAAAAEbo/uZjGcpraePA23ofQhqoFOI2slXtV4nrkgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/racetrackpa_8509885575_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="609" data-original-width="1600" height="242" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FNS3U1QhGgU/XfwrChzZEKI/AAAAAAAAEbo/uZjGcpraePA23ofQhqoFOI2slXtV4nrkgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/racetrackpa_8509885575_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The other was the Race Track Patrol. (R to L) Barricade (yes, he's not a cop car) Ground Hog, Roller Force, and Motorhead. They're a pretty nice looking patrol. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4FfIKTtqXtM/XfwrD4l1mSI/AAAAAAAAEb0/S-NuFSsZIcYUJAmqov7Y_ogCI4-dIDS-wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/racetrackpb_8510993476_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="810" data-original-width="1600" height="322" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4FfIKTtqXtM/XfwrD4l1mSI/AAAAAAAAEb0/S-NuFSsZIcYUJAmqov7Y_ogCI4-dIDS-wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/racetrackpb_8510993476_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--pFEf3lRggc/XfwjgIRjxAI/AAAAAAAAEbc/KG4wgT9zwZADhwPXmcQMUo879YQMKBYnwCEwYBhgL/s1600/airpa_8509876147_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="598" data-original-width="1600" height="238" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--pFEf3lRggc/XfwjgIRjxAI/AAAAAAAAEbc/KG4wgT9zwZADhwPXmcQMUo879YQMKBYnwCEwYBhgL/s640/airpa_8509876147_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
First up is the Air Patrol (R to L) Eagle Eye, Treadbolt, Blazemaster, and Skyhigh. Each one turns into an air vehicle. Blazemaster has removable rotors that get lost pretty easily<br />

<br />
Their bot modes are pretty nice, but they aren't the most stable, you have no idea how many times I knocked them over in my micromaster display.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w47k4JQt9wU/XfwjfBK74NI/AAAAAAAAEbU/X6EqpmuBVRMLC3KKWwrsQtGn5nhx6SSXwCEwYBhgL/s1600/constructionpa_8511005424_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="639" data-original-width="1600" height="254" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w47k4JQt9wU/XfwjfBK74NI/AAAAAAAAEbU/X6EqpmuBVRMLC3KKWwrsQtGn5nhx6SSXwCEwYBhgL/s640/constructionpa_8511005424_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Next up is the Construction Patrol (R to L) Takedown, Crumble, Neutro, and Groundpounder, all turn into construction vehicles, with articulated parts, the bucket, plow, and crane all move (crane turns as well)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ubAcz9OaWRM/Xfwjfw5UF_I/AAAAAAAAEbY/_Krennta8D4w1ApsgU-TY7T0yeh8WFssACEwYBhgL/s1600/constructionpb_8511004530_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="815" data-original-width="1600" height="324" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ubAcz9OaWRM/Xfwjfw5UF_I/AAAAAAAAEbY/_Krennta8D4w1ApsgU-TY7T0yeh8WFssACEwYBhgL/s640/constructionpb_8511004530_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I like that there are a couple little surprises with the heads on the last two.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yl_e-BWbefk/XfwjgB_lUvI/AAAAAAAAEbY/7vhTJ66JatwERH9ubV1jaQiiYfqwlhThgCEwYBhgL/s1600/hotrodpa_8511003664_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="625" data-original-width="1600" height="250" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yl_e-BWbefk/XfwjgB_lUvI/AAAAAAAAEbY/7vhTJ66JatwERH9ubV1jaQiiYfqwlhThgCEwYBhgL/s640/hotrodpa_8511003664_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The Hot Rod Patrol is one of the most popular sets thanks to Big Daddy getting a Classics figure.(R to L) Greaser, Big Daddy, Hubs, and Trip Up<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rBdwLpXORac/XfwjgtLUP_I/AAAAAAAAEbY/OnnNQecxY-APlZJ4l9wFrdtyYotN6uGjACEwYBhgL/s1600/hotrodpb_8511003156_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="860" data-original-width="1600" height="342" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rBdwLpXORac/XfwjgtLUP_I/AAAAAAAAEbY/OnnNQecxY-APlZJ4l9wFrdtyYotN6uGjACEwYBhgL/s640/hotrodpb_8511003156_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Bot modes are mostly the same until you get to Greaser who transformed backwards for some reason, the legs really suffer for it imo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SdnIJ9AFwL8/XfwjhfYVUkI/AAAAAAAAEbc/h5IhBx_hO9sE1DtefSsUQCo9FEymyUD2ACEwYBhgL/s1600/monstertruckpa_8509891347_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1600" height="230" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SdnIJ9AFwL8/XfwjhfYVUkI/AAAAAAAAEbc/h5IhBx_hO9sE1DtefSsUQCo9FEymyUD2ACEwYBhgL/s640/monstertruckpa_8509891347_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Last up is the Monster Truck Patrol, (R to L) Hydraulic, Big Hauler, Heavy Tread, and Slow Poke. For some reason, Heavy Tread is a drag car instead of a truck, but it does have a monster engine<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XJXPGMuSKAc/Xfwjh_7i4AI/AAAAAAAAEbg/5sl976Gbv502EW2NZAWQgTuFRvF8nTAfwCEwYBhgL/s1600/monstertruckpb_8509890377_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="769" data-original-width="1600" height="306" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XJXPGMuSKAc/Xfwjh_7i4AI/AAAAAAAAEbg/5sl976Gbv502EW2NZAWQgTuFRvF8nTAfwCEwYBhgL/s640/monstertruckpb_8509890377_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In bot mode, Heavy Tread can't see over his chest lol. but they do pop nicely. So, in Europe in the mid 80's, Milton Bradley repacked some Diaclone red corvettes into Transformers boxes. I really liked the variant and had to get myself one, Hyperoptic hooked me up again.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZKnNLOMjKlE/XfwV5eXw1ZI/AAAAAAAAEZA/rAqFvX7oe1oX0R3568SXsypxZySBePaMQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/MB%2BTracks%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1146" data-original-width="1600" height="458" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZKnNLOMjKlE/XfwV5eXw1ZI/AAAAAAAAEZA/rAqFvX7oe1oX0R3568SXsypxZySBePaMQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/MB%2BTracks%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
I really love the look of a red Corvette. The car mode is just as sleek as Tracks, but the colour just pops.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IEa6xTmlqaU/XfwWNg1rt-I/AAAAAAAAEZI/HKhKI9HuWd0M39APk25SRRPnaTS9IRI1QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/MB%2BTracks%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1290" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IEa6xTmlqaU/XfwWNg1rt-I/AAAAAAAAEZI/HKhKI9HuWd0M39APk25SRRPnaTS9IRI1QCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/MB%2BTracks%2BB.JPG" width="516" /></a></div>
<br />
In bot mode, the dark blue really pops against the red and the missiles fire harder than the Transformers version by far, but at least they aren't always falling out. Next up is Astrotrain, He was released in two colours in Japanese G1. Both numbered #48, the regular usa version and this one, the white variant. Another piece I got from Hyperoptic with Browning. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They actually did two versions of the boxart. Personally, I prefer this one over the regular colours for reasons I will explain later. He should have been an Autobot with these colours. The sticker sheet actually has NASA on the labels, which was removed when it was reissued in the early 2000s</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In train mode, he's mostly black other than a couple of little parts that stick out from the other mode. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Pg2NRMa7lmI/XfwR_u6XJvI/AAAAAAAAEYw/KvUVi-ikBa4nF29qy-rV7iwvtxHRRjI6wCEwYBhgL/s1600/White%2BAstrotrain%2BC.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1368" data-original-width="1600" height="546" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Pg2NRMa7lmI/XfwR_u6XJvI/AAAAAAAAEYw/KvUVi-ikBa4nF29qy-rV7iwvtxHRRjI6wCEwYBhgL/s640/White%2BAstrotrain%2BC.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This one has a bit of yellowing and not all the labels applied. I love that it turned almost completely white during the transformation. Which is the reason why I prefer this colour scheme over the regular one. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In bot mode, he remains mostly white, the gun is black as well. I really like the new new labels on the chest and thighs. </div>

There's going to be a slew of posts in the next few days. I hope to at least have an article for all the figures I haven't put up<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SxOs215ulyY/XfwNHDYOdyI/AAAAAAAAEX8/ajZ6_KYzc-sHUQ2AwXo5aWnB95rq5Go1QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Browning%2BMIB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1297" data-original-width="1600" height="518" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SxOs215ulyY/XfwNHDYOdyI/AAAAAAAAEX8/ajZ6_KYzc-sHUQ2AwXo5aWnB95rq5Go1QCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/Browning%2BMIB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a>First up is Masterforce Browning. I got him from my good friend Hyperoptic. Such a great figure. Coming from the same Microchange Gunrobo line as Megatron, but in my opinion a way better mold. The box art is very nice and the box very compact.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8_mYCTa7zNY/XfwOJq-I-VI/AAAAAAAAEYE/BtMmyGJpyqMa0EcYIGeyLXQ7E99WZfqXwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Browning%2BA1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1147" data-original-width="1600" height="458" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8_mYCTa7zNY/XfwOJq-I-VI/AAAAAAAAEYE/BtMmyGJpyqMa0EcYIGeyLXQ7E99WZfqXwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/Browning%2BA1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In gun form he is a compact Browning pistol. He comes with five missiles, two sets of fists and two guns. In gun mode he can fire a missle from pulling the trigger. He has a great chrome and black finish. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UMMB3vkAXKE/XfwOJ2Y6p7I/AAAAAAAAEYI/Dl_Ax_rEEzM2vnzcQv_Hr2KXrgRJSC4PQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Browning%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1134" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UMMB3vkAXKE/XfwOJ2Y6p7I/AAAAAAAAEYI/Dl_Ax_rEEzM2vnzcQv_Hr2KXrgRJSC4PQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/Browning%2BB.JPG" width="452" /></a></div>
<br />
In robot mode, he has a very reduced trigger crotch and better proportions than Megatron. He also can fire his right fist with the yellow tab on the arm. Brr-icyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01885375620574712826noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1969038366983027688.post-58335858592436204682018-06-16T12:54:00.000-07:002018-06-16T12:54:53.800-07:00Canadian Pepsi Prime (with 2005 version)Got this figure the other day. I really wanted the Canadian version since I'm Canadian, but the opportunity never arose.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t5xx3c6kFO0/WyVd6Pu05XI/AAAAAAAAEF8/dY2UoJwgGiI6z1lepNJ6OG2uXdbTmvkPACLcBGAs/s1600/Pepsi%2BPrime%2BMIB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1240" data-original-width="1600" height="494" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t5xx3c6kFO0/WyVd6Pu05XI/AAAAAAAAEF8/dY2UoJwgGiI6z1lepNJ6OG2uXdbTmvkPACLcBGAs/s640/Pepsi%2BPrime%2BMIB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
I had the opportunity to trade for it from a local friend and complete my Canadian exclusives between him and Slag. I found the Canadian box from another friend in the USA and I'm more than happy with him. I may replace the Canadian box someday, but for now, here he is. Canadian Pepsi Optimus Prime.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-haCOpUqzbLI/WyVedVDd5RI/AAAAAAAAEGI/rZElIvMKtH8QHPfEJoT8HE1amGI-lcW0ACLcBGAs/s1600/Canadian%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BBot.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1424" data-original-width="1600" height="568" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-haCOpUqzbLI/WyVedVDd5RI/AAAAAAAAEGI/rZElIvMKtH8QHPfEJoT8HE1amGI-lcW0ACLcBGAs/s640/Canadian%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BBot.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In robot mode, not much changed from the standard blue roller release of Optimus. It's in immaculate shape, so I'm pretty pleased about that. But otherwise, looks like Prime. You can see the accessories here, nothing is bloated on this particular figure. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZVvIk9wAGhI/WyVprRwKYLI/AAAAAAAAEG0/ulmTDY3gBhMhX7h5FjH9kiMMxxjPEMhlACEwYBhgL/s1600/Pepsi%2BPrime%2BBase.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1438" data-original-width="1600" height="574" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZVvIk9wAGhI/WyVprRwKYLI/AAAAAAAAEG0/ulmTDY3gBhMhX7h5FjH9kiMMxxjPEMhlACEwYBhgL/s640/Pepsi%2BPrime%2BBase.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zl0Yf1oO9hs/WyVednzmA6I/AAAAAAAAEGM/AMFbj_WT5mwT7KtTmT_0z0SZsEk_Buu4gCLcBGAs/s1600/Canadian%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BFront.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1174" data-original-width="1600" height="468" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zl0Yf1oO9hs/WyVednzmA6I/AAAAAAAAEGM/AMFbj_WT5mwT7KtTmT_0z0SZsEk_Buu4gCLcBGAs/s640/Canadian%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BFront.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In truck mode is where the Canadian version really shines with the full side trailer labels and the one on the back door. Not a lot to say about this figure other than it looks pretty sweet with the labels. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yLOu19Hbu6s/WyVedxjXzxI/AAAAAAAAEGQ/BmX7b0BH0dYYWpXDWf3JK87cHeTGC5xgACLcBGAs/s1600/Canadian%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2Bup.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1258" data-original-width="1600" height="502" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yLOu19Hbu6s/WyVedxjXzxI/AAAAAAAAEGQ/BmX7b0BH0dYYWpXDWf3JK87cHeTGC5xgACLcBGAs/s640/Canadian%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2Bup.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm trying to find a picture of the bottle top caps, but from what I've heard, you had to find two halves of Optimus Prime under a bottle cap, which was a common way for contests to be held on pop bottles back then, none of this input the code into the website business. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wM1sDTm86X4/WyVec1sIYyI/AAAAAAAAEGU/u6XNyTCPSjo7QLZbtj2Pqel-0OFr0J7PgCEwYBhgL/s1600/Canadian%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BBack.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1306" data-original-width="1600" height="522" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wM1sDTm86X4/WyVec1sIYyI/AAAAAAAAEGU/u6XNyTCPSjo7QLZbtj2Pqel-0OFr0J7PgCEwYBhgL/s640/Canadian%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BBack.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
On the back of the trailer, you can see the full door label as well. I've been offered a US version as well as this one, and might have to bite on it just to complete the trio of Pepsi Primes. The 2005 version I might as well show here too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LwWPChDIQJs/WyVprP8oLSI/AAAAAAAAEHA/j0HIa0oS6TwJ9dCFjpvLTql3wk7ttTBMQCEwYBhgL/s1600/2005%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BMIB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1041" data-original-width="1600" height="416" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LwWPChDIQJs/WyVprP8oLSI/AAAAAAAAEHA/j0HIa0oS6TwJ9dCFjpvLTql3wk7ttTBMQCEwYBhgL/s640/2005%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BMIB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I picked up the Japanese version with the longer smokestacks years ago, he's much more sold out in bot mode than the vintage versions as they added a ton of paint apps.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ytJEFXb98y4/WyVpqkBw_sI/AAAAAAAAEG4/U2_qvfoadKUUNEyA5prJSyc3mbhLTh2XACEwYBhgL/s1600/2005%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1308" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ytJEFXb98y4/WyVpqkBw_sI/AAAAAAAAEG4/U2_qvfoadKUUNEyA5prJSyc3mbhLTh2XACEwYBhgL/s640/2005%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BB.JPG" width="522" /></a></div>
<br />
With the labels and paint apps, from the little Pepsi on the licence plate area, to little Pepsi logos on his ears, he's a definite corporately sponsored prime.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V-h5Pd2bU5g/WyVpqb0ai8I/AAAAAAAAEHA/WxapXOOi2ocGXFGBralLCQvzdCki5pH9ACEwYBhgL/s1600/2005%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1171" data-original-width="1600" height="468" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V-h5Pd2bU5g/WyVpqb0ai8I/AAAAAAAAEHA/WxapXOOi2ocGXFGBralLCQvzdCki5pH9ACEwYBhgL/s640/2005%2BPepsi%2BPrime%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The trailer is completely different other than the feet and the undercarriage being the same mold as the old trailer. You can hold a Pepsi bottle, three cans, or a bunch of tiny cans that they don't sell over here I don't think.<br />
<br />
Anyways, hope you've enjoyed this little look at one of the rarer pieces out there. I have some catching up to do on the blog, Until next time. Brr-icyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01885375620574712826noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1969038366983027688.post-68538075526777783312017-11-19T14:49:00.001-08:002017-11-19T14:49:18.344-08:00"Upgrades" Part 23 - Fanstoys Phoenix, Terminus Giganticus, Koot, and Spindrift<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-laNbU7Vye_Y/WhHxhAG0cTI/AAAAAAAAEDI/74tNzq38Nl4EtUnJ6JSwHYmTiBzptk_sgCLcBGAs/s1600/Fanstoys%2BUpgrades.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1559" data-original-width="1600" height="622" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-laNbU7Vye_Y/WhHxhAG0cTI/AAAAAAAAEDI/74tNzq38Nl4EtUnJ6JSwHYmTiBzptk_sgCLcBGAs/s640/Fanstoys%2BUpgrades.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Some upgrades from Fanstoys this time, their four most recent releases. All of them excellent as far as I'm concerned.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
First up is Omega Supreme and Terminus Giganticus. I got the figure for my birthday, and am thoroughly impressed with it's size and quality. The base modes couldn't both fit in the light tent, so I decided to just shoot them separate, G1 shot is an old one.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bENi2Ye2SDE/WhH0rRWoB7I/AAAAAAAAEEE/jQmn_7ZLWQ8A4LP6hZ_rRaboOPdGrmCPgCEwYBhgL/s1600/omegaa_8595909915_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="751" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bENi2Ye2SDE/WhH0rRWoB7I/AAAAAAAAEEE/jQmn_7ZLWQ8A4LP6hZ_rRaboOPdGrmCPgCEwYBhgL/s640/omegaa_8595909915_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rv1Qs8sJy2A/WhH0lu3F-oI/AAAAAAAAEEA/4d38006ie-c4vwLQ6GGPmP_cFaQst2G4gCEwYBhgL/s1600/FT%2BOmega%2BBase.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="892" data-original-width="1600" height="356" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rv1Qs8sJy2A/WhH0lu3F-oI/AAAAAAAAEEA/4d38006ie-c4vwLQ6GGPmP_cFaQst2G4gCEwYBhgL/s640/FT%2BOmega%2BBase.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
They both look pretty close in base mode, FT adds a few cool little details like the ramp on the rocket, rubber treads, the face rotates back into the head to hide the face.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2GVqmN5HzE4/WhH8uuxOXTI/AAAAAAAAEEU/UYCoMzNWnMcRh768FbzMn2xYQhCatXSUgCLcBGAs/s1600/Omega%2BSupremes%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1436" data-original-width="1600" height="574" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2GVqmN5HzE4/WhH8uuxOXTI/AAAAAAAAEEU/UYCoMzNWnMcRh768FbzMn2xYQhCatXSUgCLcBGAs/s640/Omega%2BSupremes%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
In bot mode, he dwarfs the original. Plus he's pretty poseable and can hold himself up even in extreme poses. I love that they even made the claws have a few knuckles. The face sculpt is bang on the cartoon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--dGO1uKP93w/WhH0dGcuPCI/AAAAAAAAEEM/882CcqbOsa0fCqP1x2CGqjXRkUaTJyuywCEwYBhgL/s1600/Seasprays%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="948" data-original-width="1600" height="378" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--dGO1uKP93w/WhH0dGcuPCI/AAAAAAAAEEM/882CcqbOsa0fCqP1x2CGqjXRkUaTJyuywCEwYBhgL/s640/Seasprays%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Next up is Spindrift. He's pretty cool, a bit wider in hovercraft mode than the original or most scenes in the cartoon, but it balances out in bot mode. The windows in the boat are a nice addition to make it look more realistic.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ns15QyHVDZ4/WhH-5MiC1NI/AAAAAAAAEEg/vTOY6p8IcLwH4XiXupBPeKw0ubEVDiiKACLcBGAs/s1600/Seasprays%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1465" data-original-width="1600" height="584" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ns15QyHVDZ4/WhH-5MiC1NI/AAAAAAAAEEg/vTOY6p8IcLwH4XiXupBPeKw0ubEVDiiKACLcBGAs/s640/Seasprays%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
In bot mode he's pretty nice, I wouldn't say he's as cartoon accurate as most of them since he looks more in shape than the cartoon, They got the colours and face sculpt bang on though.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6Q8Dya6qTro/WhH0cF2eTtI/AAAAAAAAEEA/btyjam27jR8OnnXRQ6GM8h3NTKLtcBKSQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Kups%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="847" data-original-width="1600" height="338" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6Q8Dya6qTro/WhH0cF2eTtI/AAAAAAAAEEA/btyjam27jR8OnnXRQ6GM8h3NTKLtcBKSQCEwYBhgL/s640/Kups%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Koot is their version of Kup. In truck mode he's bang on the caroon version other than a couple of extra panel lines. He comes with Recoil and his regular gun. there's a post for mounting the gun or Targetmaster on the rear like the original.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Eh5bkEdNmF0/WhH0dC1jBlI/AAAAAAAAEEA/MoUgq-SniSMVriwa4lkO4QssW4USGVHRwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Recoils.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1415" data-original-width="1600" height="564" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Eh5bkEdNmF0/WhH0dC1jBlI/AAAAAAAAEEA/MoUgq-SniSMVriwa4lkO4QssW4USGVHRwCEwYBhgL/s640/Recoils.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Recoil is pretty poseable, with double jointed knees and arms plus swivels, shoulders, neck, and even ankle tilts. He's a little bigger than the official ones like Rodimus' Firebolt and Artfire's Nightstick.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/--zg7vD-Bwkc/WhH0c1lUgMI/AAAAAAAAEEA/BXKt5BRjEf86ZK0izLGUErkkJLT9wKxAACEwYBhgL/s1600/Kups%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1433" data-original-width="1600" height="572" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/--zg7vD-Bwkc/WhH0c1lUgMI/AAAAAAAAEEA/BXKt5BRjEf86ZK0izLGUErkkJLT9wKxAACEwYBhgL/s640/Kups%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In bot mode they went for the cartoon accuracy to the fullest, I would guess for people that want the toy accuracy, either there will be another release or Reprolabels will be getting a set made later. It really goes to show how good the original figure was compared to the show.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JrJ0iSuQYfU/WhH0b4CCyeI/AAAAAAAAEEA/0Z_pm7o-a4ICOE9k3hyC3sjPtb0tyJkfQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Jetfires%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="810" data-original-width="1600" height="322" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JrJ0iSuQYfU/WhH0b4CCyeI/AAAAAAAAEEA/0Z_pm7o-a4ICOE9k3hyC3sjPtb0tyJkfQCEwYBhgL/s640/Jetfires%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Lastly, Phoenix. This character never had a figure before they attempted to do the first 3P one that wasn't very nice. They did really well on this one, it's pretty bang on the cartoon character. They had to change the cartoon character away from the Macross version to make it different.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M5f5wLe458E/WhH0b1oNoxI/AAAAAAAAEEA/FUhXApiT_800n9YMXWrNzqemfTC4lu_1wCEwYBhgL/s1600/Jetfires%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1373" data-original-width="1600" height="548" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M5f5wLe458E/WhH0b1oNoxI/AAAAAAAAEEA/FUhXApiT_800n9YMXWrNzqemfTC4lu_1wCEwYBhgL/s640/Jetfires%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The bot mode looks and feels amazing. It's a very bulky figure, feels solid. I got the 3D symbols from shapeways as a gift from a friend. Cartoon accuracy is pretty prominent on the figure. I would have loved to have him as a kid. I thought he was huge when I got it, then I got Terminus.Brr-icyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01885375620574712826noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1969038366983027688.post-70986407528080153782017-11-08T18:19:00.001-08:002017-11-08T18:19:24.916-08:00Seacons FinallyFinally got around to de-reissuing this set. This combiner was released in Masterforce as well as the US market. I will include their Masterforce names in parenthesis if they were different. Pretty glad to have the vintage ones finally. He was the last Decepticon reissue I had in my collection. Three more Autobots to go. Thanks to Megatoyfan for the deal on him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2qtYzKiuxts/WgO1KUsfEiI/AAAAAAAAECg/E0uUX2cxVqg61Cg5i82royX7zdCQzlnUQCLcBGAs/s1600/Seacons.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="617" data-original-width="1600" height="246" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2qtYzKiuxts/WgO1KUsfEiI/AAAAAAAAECg/E0uUX2cxVqg61Cg5i82royX7zdCQzlnUQCLcBGAs/s640/Seacons.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
We will start with Nautilator (Lobclaw), who is a lobster of some sort. It used to be common for the claws to be missing from sets, but I haven't noticed this as much anymore though.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gY3bStkATUw/WgOxGOwHj2I/AAAAAAAAECA/D_Nc2dOqEvY7ZBhukH5vk3dyfnj9l52UwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Nautilator%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1124" data-original-width="1600" height="448" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gY3bStkATUw/WgOxGOwHj2I/AAAAAAAAECA/D_Nc2dOqEvY7ZBhukH5vk3dyfnj9l52UwCEwYBhgL/s640/Nautilator%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
All five of them also have a gun mode that can be held by the gestault. Each of them comes with a stand that can support them in gun mode as well. It's a neat idea, and sets the Seacons apart other than just their alt modes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f7Oe41Pwejo/WgOxGaMEtgI/AAAAAAAAECA/bgcQg9jNyJYz4VbFDJbvIYJWq4dNAhcLgCEwYBhgL/s1600/Nautilator%2BG.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1480" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f7Oe41Pwejo/WgOxGaMEtgI/AAAAAAAAECA/bgcQg9jNyJYz4VbFDJbvIYJWq4dNAhcLgCEwYBhgL/s640/Nautilator%2BG.JPG" width="592" /></a></div>
<br />
In bot mode, he's a typical combiner limb, not much going on, but that's ok. The lobster legs give him a neat silhouette.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YtdY6vBXO1Q/WgOxGfYaupI/AAAAAAAAECA/ljlXmRTmqGE1ujMSzNGg3a5rCYkZDQznQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Nautilator%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1390" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YtdY6vBXO1Q/WgOxGfYaupI/AAAAAAAAECA/ljlXmRTmqGE1ujMSzNGg3a5rCYkZDQznQCEwYBhgL/s640/Nautilator%2BB.JPG" width="554" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Secondly we have Skalor (Gulf). He's some sort of mutant fish. The fish mode is fairly articulate, with moving arms, dual joints in the legs and an opening mouth.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ujFEjbodhVc/WgOxIq7mPKI/AAAAAAAAECA/diGWRR4jo0IB9EZvaHQYbGEuf-5mQX6tQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Skalor%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1306" data-original-width="1600" height="522" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ujFEjbodhVc/WgOxIq7mPKI/AAAAAAAAECA/diGWRR4jo0IB9EZvaHQYbGEuf-5mQX6tQCEwYBhgL/s640/Skalor%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
His gun mode is a little better than Nautilator's.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bj2czs0BNpk/WgOxIiCVNXI/AAAAAAAAECA/4sIzYLUcTKocFjVttEYdZtcp74tGhQ5PQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Skalor%2BG.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1496" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bj2czs0BNpk/WgOxIiCVNXI/AAAAAAAAECA/4sIzYLUcTKocFjVttEYdZtcp74tGhQ5PQCEwYBhgL/s640/Skalor%2BG.JPG" width="598" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
The thing I really love about the combiner limbs is the amount of different head sculpts they get out of the same shape and size. Which is one of the things I love about the cassettes, how varied they are while being constricted.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fXS0j8MvxCM/WgO0aRmhkWI/AAAAAAAAECY/7YiLazBn-s4bSetxULBNH_WA6IJtAhraACLcBGAs/s1600/Skalor%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1375" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fXS0j8MvxCM/WgO0aRmhkWI/AAAAAAAAECY/7YiLazBn-s4bSetxULBNH_WA6IJtAhraACLcBGAs/s640/Skalor%2BB.JPG" width="548" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Next up, Overbite, glad that I finally have a purple one of him, much nicer than the reissue's pink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JSJcdsn5ejs/WgOxG2eaRHI/AAAAAAAAECA/ZP7sg4YHxXccVeE1N-FAF4CZOo69urDXACEwYBhgL/s1600/Overbite%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1247" data-original-width="1600" height="498" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JSJcdsn5ejs/WgOxG2eaRHI/AAAAAAAAECA/ZP7sg4YHxXccVeE1N-FAF4CZOo69urDXACEwYBhgL/s640/Overbite%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
The gun mode is kind of strange as it just looks like a shark with his neck broken. At least with the original, it breaks up the pink so it is not as bad.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-clbBLtiQEgs/WgOxHTpZ3zI/AAAAAAAAECA/nu3amUiQKsoN8egmb10wa-MCaileRkT_QCEwYBhgL/s1600/Overbite%2BG.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1516" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-clbBLtiQEgs/WgOxHTpZ3zI/AAAAAAAAECA/nu3amUiQKsoN8egmb10wa-MCaileRkT_QCEwYBhgL/s640/Overbite%2BG.JPG" width="606" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I love the bot mode on him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HNuZtlC6NQU/WgOxHBMXBJI/AAAAAAAAECA/qGaKD3dyQgUdTNVIavz6HjLessC-t_q4QCEwYBhgL/s1600/Overbite%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1328" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HNuZtlC6NQU/WgOxHBMXBJI/AAAAAAAAECA/qGaKD3dyQgUdTNVIavz6HjLessC-t_q4QCEwYBhgL/s640/Overbite%2BB.JPG" width="530" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Seawing (Kraken) is a manta ray. I really like the teal, black, and gray for him. Easily the most subdued of the crew.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
His gun mode is decent.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZknpQoPnxY/WgOxIe2l7aI/AAAAAAAAECA/W0XMWTt1ryo88O6rNcycBST2ox_s1KVOQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Seawing%2BG.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1267" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZknpQoPnxY/WgOxIe2l7aI/AAAAAAAAECA/W0XMWTt1ryo88O6rNcycBST2ox_s1KVOQCEwYBhgL/s640/Seawing%2BG.JPG" width="506" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
His bot mode however, is not. The way they did the legs leaves a lot to be desired, but I applaud their efforts to make him transform differently.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VNweoQQDk04/WgOxHyFGMnI/AAAAAAAAECA/g9FQTF4EvRwXX6C-xnw9v4ASIHvppl40ACEwYBhgL/s1600/Seawing%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1350" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VNweoQQDk04/WgOxHyFGMnI/AAAAAAAAECA/g9FQTF4EvRwXX6C-xnw9v4ASIHvppl40ACEwYBhgL/s640/Seawing%2BB.JPG" width="538" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Tentakil is the squid monster of the group. (What sea monster group is complete without a squid monster, I mean, come on!) He is also one of the most heavily featured of the Seacon drones on Masterforce.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XAp6DS0yiCU/WgOxJcO5raI/AAAAAAAAECA/uYufQk4BEPIO_Q-LtukiIUKBAUu7JQx7gCEwYBhgL/s1600/Tentakill%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1386" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XAp6DS0yiCU/WgOxJcO5raI/AAAAAAAAECA/uYufQk4BEPIO_Q-LtukiIUKBAUu7JQx7gCEwYBhgL/s640/Tentakill%2BA.JPG" width="554" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bfL6TKH6W5E/WgOxJy378zI/AAAAAAAAECA/0jmr4lmDZ9o1ksN20imI4Kc0hSdXcMhIwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Tentakill%2BG.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1579" data-original-width="1600" height="630" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bfL6TKH6W5E/WgOxJy378zI/AAAAAAAAECA/0jmr4lmDZ9o1ksN20imI4Kc0hSdXcMhIwCEwYBhgL/s640/Tentakill%2BG.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
His bot mode does something different by flipping the entire figure over for transformation.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SDAZfA0kvbM/WgOxJo6gtvI/AAAAAAAAECA/xtmmxOIMEYwK4f6WcYOHdw9AEQ0x0nqnQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Tentakill%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1209" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SDAZfA0kvbM/WgOxJo6gtvI/AAAAAAAAECA/xtmmxOIMEYwK4f6WcYOHdw9AEQ0x0nqnQCEwYBhgL/s640/Tentakill%2BB.JPG" width="482" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Lastly, Snaptrap (Turtler) is the leader of the group. He turns into a massive turtle with moving turrets on his back that you can move with the peg in the center of his back. In Masterforce, Turtler was the only sentient member of the group with the others being cannon fodder monsters.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lqLfneMdFUo/WgOxJDyuiYI/AAAAAAAAECA/2zfUJWEkbWQV30sSX4q9ln3yPxDvebyYACEwYBhgL/s1600/Snaptrap%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1363" data-original-width="1600" height="544" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lqLfneMdFUo/WgOxJDyuiYI/AAAAAAAAECA/2zfUJWEkbWQV30sSX4q9ln3yPxDvebyYACEwYBhgL/s640/Snaptrap%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Unlike the rest of the Scramble City combiner cores, Snap Trap doesn't have a base mode. In bot mode, I think he is one of the first figures to have angled feet so his legs sit at more of a relaxed open stance than straight down. I really like how the black breaks up the green chest<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9gaxQFO_9jc/WgOyEN-V8vI/AAAAAAAAECM/zHUjOTOHOYMiG-LBDVZAwkQofCLQmSiBACLcBGAs/s1600/Snaptrap%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1597" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9gaxQFO_9jc/WgOyEN-V8vI/AAAAAAAAECM/zHUjOTOHOYMiG-LBDVZAwkQofCLQmSiBACLcBGAs/s640/Snaptrap%2BB.JPG" width="638" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Finally Piranacon (King Poseidon)<span style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 19.05px;"><b> love the look of him. </b></span></span><br />

<br /><br />So now the "secret" behind my long and sometimes frequent absence on the blog here. It is not because there have been no acquisitions, it is not because I have nothing left to say about Transformers, and it is certainly not because I have left this blog for good.<br /><br />It is, however, because <i><b>G1-junkie / Hyperoptic</b></i>, <b><i>Heroic Decepticon</i></b> and myself have been working on a very special project - the <span style="color: red;"><b>Transformers G1 Unofficial Photographic Archive</b></span>!<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QQrVA2bzpik/Wbk8GqnhpaI/AAAAAAAAFhg/CIps2q4PyjYQGNJ_KH9A0GGCW2FRTCABwCLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-09-13%2Bat%2B10.08.02%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="color: #5421bb; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-decoration-line: none;"><img border="0" data-original-height="339" data-original-width="522" height="258" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QQrVA2bzpik/Wbk8GqnhpaI/AAAAAAAAFhg/CIps2q4PyjYQGNJ_KH9A0GGCW2FRTCABwCLcBGAs/s400/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-09-13%2Bat%2B10.08.02%2BPM.png" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 1px solid rgb(238, 238, 238); box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) 1px 1px 5px; padding: 5px; position: relative;" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
[<i>Optimus Prime double spread from Volume 1</i>]</div>
<br />It's a good long title, to be sure. It was what we have settled on. Something that was suggested by <i>HD's E</i> was along the lines of "Photographic Memories of G1 Transformers". Poetic, yes?<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-36eGc3ZZt3s/Wbk8Oj1I_8I/AAAAAAAAFhk/U0SwG6IdcBIuh92PQ8hJXaUKXjTDdBuuACLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-09-13%2Bat%2B10.08.51%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="color: #5421bb; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-decoration-line: none;"><img border="0" data-original-height="326" data-original-width="523" height="248" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-36eGc3ZZt3s/Wbk8Oj1I_8I/AAAAAAAAFhk/U0SwG6IdcBIuh92PQ8hJXaUKXjTDdBuuACLcBGAs/s400/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-09-13%2Bat%2B10.08.51%2BPM.png" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 1px solid rgb(238, 238, 238); box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) 1px 1px 5px; padding: 5px; position: relative;" width="400" /></a></div>

<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
[<i>Blue Bacchus and Black Shadow spread from Volume 2</i>]</div>
<br />In total, we are talking about 500+ pages of the good stuff, the solid G1 stuff. With hundreds of hours of shooting photos and writing and after more than 10,000 photographs, the books are now 90% complete.<br /><br />Approximately 21 hours ago, we launched our campaign on Kickstarter. Here is the link again:<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1052752228/transformers-g1-unofficial-photographic-archive-vi" style="color: #5421bb; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: medium;">https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1052752228/transformers-g1-unofficial-photographic-archive-vi</span></a></div>

<br />As of this moment, it is about 25% funded, which we are really happy about.<br /><br />If you like G1 Transformers at all, do head over to Kickstarter (link above) to check out the project and if you like what you see, any support you can lend towards getting the books fully funded would be very much appreciated!</div>

The Ocular Echo Facebook page that hosts news about our identification book project has reached 300 likes this week. To thank the people who gave us a like and to welcome anyone that would be interested in these books, we decided to do a little giveaway. All you need to do to enter is reply to this post and like the Ocular Echo page (<a data-ft="{"tn":"-U"}" href="https://www.facebook.com/OcularEcho/" style="color: #365899; cursor: pointer; font-family: inherit; text-decoration-line: none;">https://www.facebook.com/OcularEcho/</a>). And yes, this is exactly what it looks like, it is a shameless yet humble attempt at marketing. We gotta do what we gotta do. <span class="_47e3 _5mfr" style="font-family: inherit; line-height: 0; margin: 0px 1px; vertical-align: middle;" title="wink emoticon"><img alt="" class="img" height="16" role="presentation" src="https://www.facebook.com/images/emoji.php/v9/f57/1/16/1f609.png" style="border: 0px; vertical-align: -3px;" width="16" /><span aria-hidden="true" class="_7oe" style="display: inline-block; font-family: inherit; font-size: 0px; width: 0px;">;)</span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: black; color: white;">We took a bit of time to make this animated GIF for the Kickstarter page. Think we'll make more of them, they're tricky to get looking right, but it'll spice the page up a bit. We all know how much of a niche market vintage Transformers collecting is, so we'll need all the help we can get to make these books a reality. We are aiming to get the campaign up and running in two weeks. We'll keep you posted, there's a lot of moving parts to this. Please stay tuned.</span></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Sbxi9w5GWRA/WW65d3ARJ4I/AAAAAAAAD_s/V5sWw1pmm24tpJvDD_yTLynX66Q3KA0AACLcBGAs/s1600/Sixcombiners.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1029" data-original-width="1600" height="410" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Sbxi9w5GWRA/WW65d3ARJ4I/AAAAAAAAD_s/V5sWw1pmm24tpJvDD_yTLynX66Q3KA0AACLcBGAs/s640/Sixcombiners.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Six-teams came out over the course of two years in G1, Sixliner was released in Return of Convoy and the rest were in Operation Combination. in 2003, Takara and Hasbro decided to reissue them, giving them a few different colour schemes in the process. In the cases, two of 12 of the boxes for the Takara versions, there were "chase" variants. It took me a while to get these. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2D_wFOQKekY/WW650WOLApI/AAAAAAAAD_4/iJ3-_i4ukgsyJFMpbtOyufZHkVI7FRfEgCLcBGAs/s1600/Sixbuilders.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="822" data-original-width="1600" height="328" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2D_wFOQKekY/WW650WOLApI/AAAAAAAAD_4/iJ3-_i4ukgsyJFMpbtOyufZHkVI7FRfEgCLcBGAs/s640/Sixbuilders.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Sixbuilder came out in Operation Combination originally. Left to right you have, Chase Takara reissue "Decepticon Sixbuilder", Hasbro Devastator, Takara Reissue, and the Operation Combination release. You can see the Takara reissue was kind of close to the original, but not quite there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LiIWZhOXmYQ/WW650WNF7MI/AAAAAAAAD_0/BACYnX4DPGogtj75uGWSP_XMFpiemooHgCLcBGAs/s1600/Sixtrains%2Band%2BSixliners.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="695" data-original-width="1600" height="276" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LiIWZhOXmYQ/WW650WNF7MI/AAAAAAAAD_0/BACYnX4DPGogtj75uGWSP_XMFpiemooHgCLcBGAs/s640/Sixtrains%2Band%2BSixliners.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Sixliner and Sixtrain, I put them in the same pic since there's not a ton of variants alone. Left to right you have the Chase Takara "Burning Red Sixtrain", Takara Reissue (and Railracer in the USA) Operation Combination Sixtrain, Takara Reissue Sixliner, and Return of Convoy Sixliner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-boYu4eYVdVY/WW650Q4RcAI/AAAAAAAAD_w/utvkbHHw4VklD0XIOgAAniwn2ip3CpM1gCLcBGAs/s1600/Sixturbos.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="910" data-original-width="1600" height="362" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-boYu4eYVdVY/WW650Q4RcAI/AAAAAAAAD_w/utvkbHHw4VklD0XIOgAAniwn2ip3CpM1gCLcBGAs/s640/Sixturbos.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Sixturbo comes in with not too many variants. Chase Takara "Reverse Evolution Sixturbo", Takara reissue (and Hasbro Defensor) and the Operation Combination version.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BMFQFLc4yyo/WW651DhGS8I/AAAAAAAAD_8/Uj5titPr7iAJzVxc5Y4gVEAC5LouWf-1ACLcBGAs/s1600/Sixwings.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="908" data-original-width="1600" height="362" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BMFQFLc4yyo/WW651DhGS8I/AAAAAAAAD_8/Uj5titPr7iAJzVxc5Y4gVEAC5LouWf-1ACLcBGAs/s640/Sixwings.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Lastly, we have Sixwing. He was reissued as Chase "Berserker Sixwing" Hasbro Superion (GPS Prone), Takara Destron Sixwing, and Operation Combination Sixwing. These guys took me years to finally get all sixteen, but it was worth it in the end to see them all together. <a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z5tsZ285jFA/WVUvka3jzwI/AAAAAAAAD-c/xLoE5mzdz_MRnit_5C_L49O89Liq2R87wCLcBGAs/s1600/Upgrades%2B22.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="847" data-original-width="1600" height="338" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z5tsZ285jFA/WVUvka3jzwI/AAAAAAAAD-c/xLoE5mzdz_MRnit_5C_L49O89Liq2R87wCLcBGAs/s640/Upgrades%2B22.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Another batch of figures gets the upgrades treatment. I picked up a couple of figures a couple weeks back, figured I should toss them in the tent for a shoot. </div>
<div>
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zF99iFA6w0I/WVUv5TAdozI/AAAAAAAAD-k/BrkgyVUmOqYEcP1r74Se3X5FSugMW5QDgCEwYBhgL/s1600/Shockwaves%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="965" data-original-width="1600" height="386" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zF99iFA6w0I/WVUv5TAdozI/AAAAAAAAD-k/BrkgyVUmOqYEcP1r74Se3X5FSugMW5QDgCEwYBhgL/s640/Shockwaves%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
MP Shockwave is one of the most accurate figures, but they made him a tiny bit too small, which pissed some fans off, and they kept their third party figures of him, I don't like either of the 3p choices all that much anymore, thanks to the ingenious leg transformation on the MP, I like that the original's feet can hold it up in gun mode. The biggest improvement on the MP is that the barrel is no longer removable, it transforms onto his back. The hose is a spring, which I thought was neat, saves the cracking that plagues the original's. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y7OXL8BfyY4/WVUv07GEzdI/AAAAAAAAD-o/je5v2TD54WMDoSLLr2icC_oi77cSnd_1wCEwYBhgL/s1600/Shockwaves%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1225" data-original-width="1600" height="488" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y7OXL8BfyY4/WVUv07GEzdI/AAAAAAAAD-o/je5v2TD54WMDoSLLr2icC_oi77cSnd_1wCEwYBhgL/s640/Shockwaves%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The colour is another controversial point among fans, it could have been a little bit darker, but I am okay with it. I love that they included a tiny alt mode for him to hold, shows that Takara has a sense of humour about the animation mistakes. He comes with two different sets of hands, clear and solid in colour. He has electronics in him to make the gun barrels light up. The gun stand covers the barrel on his back to make it more like the original since the back of the gun is used to flesh out his legs instead of flipping onto his back. Overall, I really like him, I'm glad Quakewave was made, but he wasn't quite there to where I wanted him to look, Shockwave stands on a pedestal in my display to hide the size a bit beside Megatron. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jdFSScwOKP0/WVUzbL1gLbI/AAAAAAAAD-0/FwwoVDhFvtsqby2H06T8Yl5wYak8TFNpQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Pointblanks%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="906" data-original-width="1600" height="362" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jdFSScwOKP0/WVUzbL1gLbI/AAAAAAAAD-0/FwwoVDhFvtsqby2H06T8Yl5wYak8TFNpQCEwYBhgL/s640/Pointblanks%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Maketoys Contact Shot (with Reprolabels) is next on the list, I really love his vehicle mode, except the fact that you can't mount the gun properly. I left the legs slightly separated in order to slide the handle in there, it's not perfect but it will do. The vehicle mode is more sleek than the original and matches the animated version more. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vIkkebefRi0/WVUzbjfIBnI/AAAAAAAAD-4/XfSfA-lUpFUOKh8hQmGwgN2jlqKkwzwWQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Pointblank%2BCockpit.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vIkkebefRi0/WVUzbjfIBnI/AAAAAAAAD-4/XfSfA-lUpFUOKh8hQmGwgN2jlqKkwzwWQCEwYBhgL/s640/Pointblank%2BCockpit.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The cockpit actually opens on the Maketoys version for Peacemaker to sit inside if you want to do that instead of have him mounted in gun mode. they did a bunch of cool detailing in there too. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tjXBMO6qdZA/WVUzbBvfOpI/AAAAAAAAD-w/zuOilY13ScEw5Eaty-A1IJu-PXaoVZ37QCEwYBhgL/s1600/Pointblank%2BPeacemakers.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1461" data-original-width="1600" height="584" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tjXBMO6qdZA/WVUzbBvfOpI/AAAAAAAAD-w/zuOilY13ScEw5Eaty-A1IJu-PXaoVZ37QCEwYBhgL/s640/Pointblank%2BPeacemakers.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Speaking of peacemaker, he's a lot more articulate than the original, but lacks the height. I love how the barrel folds up on his back though, pretty neat feature instead of having it hang down like the vintage one.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MTuyKS8GCws/WVUzb5Gm7cI/AAAAAAAAD-8/fenrMT9pD4QHJNjcneIaUME4Q42lwoaqACEwYBhgL/s1600/Pointblanks%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1262" data-original-width="1600" height="504" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MTuyKS8GCws/WVUzb5Gm7cI/AAAAAAAAD-8/fenrMT9pD4QHJNjcneIaUME4Q42lwoaqACEwYBhgL/s640/Pointblanks%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In bot mode, wow...he looks like he just stepped off the screen, I love how he looks and they nailed the face on him. Articulation is of course great, but my sample has weak ankles, so you have to position him just right. the gun is pretty well done, and they added an additional barrel to go over the one that's attached to make it bigger and more screen accurate. The transformation is complex, but not frustrating like some of the other figures I've handled, everything is very intuitive.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wcIcqJsh_H4/WVU1g5TLLAI/AAAAAAAAD_M/AXYNLu81Pign9tDHZW0VbqqPC1HCxfwTQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Overlord%2BTanks.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="875" data-original-width="1600" height="348" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wcIcqJsh_H4/WVU1g5TLLAI/AAAAAAAAD_M/AXYNLu81Pign9tDHZW0VbqqPC1HCxfwTQCEwYBhgL/s640/Overlord%2BTanks.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Lastly, we will take a look at MMC Carnifex. I'm very fond of the original figure and character, so the comic one isn't 100% my thing, if I had to pick one character over the other it's not even a contest. In tank mode, it fails utterly to be an earth tank, but is decently close to the comic version. Under the teal panel on the front there is space for the powermasters, I haven't gotten the upgrade for him tto include them or make it closer to the G1 version, not sure if I will. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pvUIQV1pPZM/WVU1f67HziI/AAAAAAAAD_E/n5kRAKElQrMV-6a1D0HhQ2XOUEZEr9nEgCEwYBhgL/s1600/Overlord%2BJets.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="706" data-original-width="1600" height="282" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pvUIQV1pPZM/WVU1f67HziI/AAAAAAAAD_E/n5kRAKElQrMV-6a1D0HhQ2XOUEZEr9nEgCEwYBhgL/s640/Overlord%2BJets.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The jet mode, however is great, and looks better than the comic version imo. I really like that they kept the cockpit close to the shape of the original, while getting the updated classics look going on. The way the wings come out of the top and transform is really neat, but the shoulder things transforming is so frustrating I don't want to do it again for a while haha.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The combined jet and tank that was added for the show like Victory Leo's jet mode or Sixshot's winged wolf mode is pulled off much nicer with Carnifex. It's pretty cool they even integrated the cannon and swords into that mode so there's nothing left over on the table when you form that mode. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IxlkSWOjV0I/WVU1hPaYiUI/AAAAAAAAD_Y/wQemHHBglvszcnE2REnJshilGpxEWZ9EQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Overlords%2BBases.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="647" data-original-width="1600" height="258" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IxlkSWOjV0I/WVU1hPaYiUI/AAAAAAAAD_Y/wQemHHBglvszcnE2REnJshilGpxEWZ9EQCEwYBhgL/s640/Overlords%2BBases.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In Masterforce, Overlord makes a Decepticon base. It's much more convincing than Carnifex's which just looks like someone decided that this was a base instead of purposely being added. I love the original's base, I forgot to get the little car out that came with it, but it holds one of the powermasters. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iwlhvuQ8R5w/WVU1f-U9fRI/AAAAAAAAD_Y/hHKUUWzU_xIdPiDug_We_oWxa8NZ6xnjwCEwYBhgL/s1600/Giga%2Band%2BMega.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1488" data-original-width="1600" height="594" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iwlhvuQ8R5w/WVU1f-U9fRI/AAAAAAAAD_Y/hHKUUWzU_xIdPiDug_We_oWxa8NZ6xnjwCEwYBhgL/s640/Giga%2Band%2BMega.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In Masterforce, the life force for Overlord is provided by Mega and Giga. a husband and wife that command the jet and tank individually and the combined robot simultaneously. Their character is probably one of the most well written in Transformers. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NCWl_bV2W88/WVU1hIfOlaI/AAAAAAAAD_Y/3tccqgFGydwX111zswbEXOMsLV67nJAMQCEwYBhgL/s1600/Overlords%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1294" data-original-width="1600" height="516" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NCWl_bV2W88/WVU1hIfOlaI/AAAAAAAAD_Y/3tccqgFGydwX111zswbEXOMsLV67nJAMQCEwYBhgL/s640/Overlords%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's hard to compare the robot modes of these two since they're working off two very different source materials. Both match the source very well, and they both have his stomach weapons. The Reprolabels set really makes him pop, I love the edging on the swords and wings. I kind of wish the purple matched the vintage a little better, but that's about it for colour changes, the blue is fantastic. All in all, I like them both for what they represent, but my love for the vintage is pretty hard to beat. </div>

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FTYqOqTSguY/WTSpnv3lYmI/AAAAAAAAD9c/Qf39LOrcJ-YPwi7l34r9YBHgS1zKavEVgCLcB/s1600/Dinobots.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1012" data-original-width="1600" height="404" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FTYqOqTSguY/WTSpnv3lYmI/AAAAAAAAD9c/Qf39LOrcJ-YPwi7l34r9YBHgS1zKavEVgCLcB/s640/Dinobots.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Finally completed the Fanstoys set. After a couple years of waiting impatiently, they're all here.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>These guys are big, bulky, well built, and accurate. I really like that they kept the chrome and colouring as accurate to the show with these releases, there were also toy versions of Swoop and Slag released.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JyI9DhzQyOs/WTSq2UIKgWI/AAAAAAAAD-A/8bVVhRRwUAU9y3KfbSUvvext0Wy8ZvrLgCEw/s1600/Swoops%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="921" data-original-width="1600" height="368" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JyI9DhzQyOs/WTSq2UIKgWI/AAAAAAAAD-A/8bVVhRRwUAU9y3KfbSUvvext0Wy8ZvrLgCEw/s640/Swoops%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Swoop or "Soar" as Fanstoys calls him is huge, he comes with the stand shown in the opening photo, a clear beak and regular silver wings to swap out for the chrome ones. He was also released in red like the toy, but since the show he was blue, I grabbed the blue. All of my FT ones have the Reprolabels/Toyhax labels. In Pterodactyl mode, the wingspan is immense and very well articulated. He comes with the missile launchers that the original figure had, but the missiles aren't removable.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WWZTQZsjlSc/WTSq2tuF9ZI/AAAAAAAAD-E/0Kyn7RUWmnM4S2519RhPNYqj6ND-MF6cwCEw/s1600/Swoops%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1265" data-original-width="1600" height="504" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WWZTQZsjlSc/WTSq2tuF9ZI/AAAAAAAAD-E/0Kyn7RUWmnM4S2519RhPNYqj6ND-MF6cwCEw/s640/Swoops%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In bot mode, he's so well proportioned and articulated, adding in three joints for each finger, double jointed knees and elbows, etc. He comes with a sword that can be lit up with a watch battery, the missile launcher's handles can transform to be held in the hands. Originally, he shipped with a different face, but Grinder/Grimlock came with a new face for him and a couple others. The original I loved as a kid, mine had a broken beak, that you could put in place in each mode, and it held.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_Qh5Czjaxrs/WTSq1-DWG7I/AAAAAAAAD94/YnqmNFoj0zQzEs9EgDVeRx9YZDYv9yf7QCEw/s1600/Snarls%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_Qh5Czjaxrs/WTSq1-DWG7I/AAAAAAAAD94/YnqmNFoj0zQzEs9EgDVeRx9YZDYv9yf7QCEw/s640/Snarls%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Snarl or "Sever" is such an impressive figure in hand, it's crazy the amount of articulation that is in the dino mode is well done and non intrusive like some of the figures that just look off with all the extra joints.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-717YW7j_EbI/WTSq2HAHUyI/AAAAAAAAD98/lyVu49GMgUAjIUXH5vjSC6zIbGnIkfaGACEw/s1600/Snarls%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1417" data-original-width="1600" height="566" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-717YW7j_EbI/WTSq2HAHUyI/AAAAAAAAD98/lyVu49GMgUAjIUXH5vjSC6zIbGnIkfaGACEw/s640/Snarls%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Sever got an entirely new head with Grinder, massive improvement, I really like how the figure's arms transform, the panels split and flip around to cover the gold chrome and snap back together. The legs also are pretty neat how the head and legs store inside the robot legs and the back end of the dino collapses into his back to make him thinner, I was thoroughly impressed the first time I transformed him. He got new panels to cover the bottom of the dino chest that looked missing originally. There's actually a glue line on my parent's kitchen table from when I glued the one side of the dino head on my original figure when I was kid and got it all over my fingers and tried to wipe it off on the table.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OTeV40HvklE/WTSq1UxD4wI/AAAAAAAAD90/ia3WAVFm9qQ0Tu4mJ-QPO4UDm8QAYZDUQCEw/s1600/Sludges%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1033" data-original-width="1600" height="412" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OTeV40HvklE/WTSq1UxD4wI/AAAAAAAAD90/ia3WAVFm9qQ0Tu4mJ-QPO4UDm8QAYZDUQCEw/s640/Sludges%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Sludge or "Stomp" is the biggest of them all, very fun figure in dino mode. All of the figures have swap-able red/blue eyes for the dino modes, Stomp also has the eyes popping out of his head like they did in the 1986 movie when Devastator slams on his back. I never had him as a kid.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LPRPguLQVLg/WTSq1Ug_nVI/AAAAAAAAD9w/glWVEWWJ_zA4rBoJ9J7ToSQVg1XQvaUigCEw/s1600/Sludges%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1218" data-original-width="1600" height="486" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LPRPguLQVLg/WTSq1Ug_nVI/AAAAAAAAD9w/glWVEWWJ_zA4rBoJ9J7ToSQVg1XQvaUigCEw/s640/Sludges%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
He was the only previously released dino to not get a new head from Grinder. You can see the tail inside the leg there, and the dino legs are slightly collapsed into the sides of his legs. I like what they did with the fists into the arms with the forearms and the points of the dino toes swing outwards to let the fists rotate out. For some reason, he's the only one that comes with his missile launcher instead of the rifle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ttddikmauKM/WTSq0GQKL2I/AAAAAAAAD9k/ko7PSGfvHfY9lSYDgWiFDGSuDQ2KEdYxACEw/s1600/Slags%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1021" data-original-width="1600" height="408" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ttddikmauKM/WTSq0GQKL2I/AAAAAAAAD9k/ko7PSGfvHfY9lSYDgWiFDGSuDQ2KEdYxACEw/s640/Slags%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Slag or "Scoria" was the first released, he took me a while to pick up because of the potato shape the body has, but when I did, it's not as big of a deal as it was initially, the chrome distracts from that. There is another version coming out with a closer to toy accurate dino mode, but I don't think I'll get it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hnx2Ez6wVh0/WTSq1EnrDgI/AAAAAAAAD9s/wE8DM7SGhFUGmfu4oaqg5asYO9LHMZjMQCEw/s1600/Slags%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1531" data-original-width="1600" height="612" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hnx2Ez6wVh0/WTSq1EnrDgI/AAAAAAAAD9s/wE8DM7SGhFUGmfu4oaqg5asYO9LHMZjMQCEw/s640/Slags%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In bot mode, he's close to the Canadian version, which is closer to the animation than the regular version is. I love his bot mode, the only part that is a pain is the sword not going straight into his hand, I added the new face to him, and used a bit of Reprolabels scrap to wrap the main amount of the barrel's pink end to make it chrome.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0vPa2Fh5bzA/WTSq0Jei9LI/AAAAAAAAD9g/ZGFePEeRU8ABsw2GVQWo77X_Nhe3P_JZgCEw/s1600/Grimlocks%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1548" data-original-width="1600" height="618" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0vPa2Fh5bzA/WTSq0Jei9LI/AAAAAAAAD9g/ZGFePEeRU8ABsw2GVQWo77X_Nhe3P_JZgCEw/s640/Grimlocks%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Grimlock I had as a kid as well, G1 and G2. I have had a few figures of him over the years, but this and MP-08 are the only ones that truly do him justice. My wife bought me MP-08 for my birthday, so he isn't going anywhere, but this is definitely the one that fits with MP-10 onward. The additional wrist articulation on the dino mode really help with the posing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O9nzCRm0dJU/WTSq0Kfc6AI/AAAAAAAAD9o/9irhJZHebUQ1JuPjcdRt4DN4LSzA1rFGACEw/s1600/Grimlocks%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1458" data-original-width="1600" height="582" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O9nzCRm0dJU/WTSq0Kfc6AI/AAAAAAAAD9o/9irhJZHebUQ1JuPjcdRt4DN4LSzA1rFGACEw/s640/Grimlocks%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The way the tail hides inside the legs is great, He comes with his sword and gun, the chest and head joint is very interesting way to combat the little pegs on the back of the chest, and he's very poseable with good proportions.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hoh_xmMlpj0/WTS7d8T-UEI/AAAAAAAAD-M/viKfylPbjiAiS9lwhwzrnutryJcVeWrbgCLcB/s1600/FT%2BDinobots%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1046" data-original-width="1600" height="418" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hoh_xmMlpj0/WTS7d8T-UEI/AAAAAAAAD-M/viKfylPbjiAiS9lwhwzrnutryJcVeWrbgCLcB/s640/FT%2BDinobots%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
If you haven't picked them up, I highly recommend taking your time to track down a set. Whether it is separate or complete. I don't feel like I will be replacing any of them in the years to come.Brr-icyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01885375620574712826noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1969038366983027688.post-44103981698416127892017-05-17T15:36:00.000-07:002017-05-17T15:47:49.905-07:00Decepticon Small Pretenders<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Finally got the last one to finish this trio. I've been a little lax on my US G1 collection since I started going for the international releases. But when a decent deal comes up on one, I can't say no.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SoGKf2u3VhE/WRyyhJt8V6I/AAAAAAAAD9A/nOxeTEMm0mMo6wTsXEJI0eI5kkoP8Ve0wCEw/s1600/bludgeonb_8626714238_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="636" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SoGKf2u3VhE/WRyyhJt8V6I/AAAAAAAAD9A/nOxeTEMm0mMo6wTsXEJI0eI5kkoP8Ve0wCEw/s640/bludgeonb_8626714238_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Bludgeon is the most well known of them, leading the Decepticons and being featured in a bunch of comics, and has had many toys over the last couple years. His shell is a skeletal samurai warrior that can wear the turret as an arm shield. Mine came with a sword that's just always been in his hand, fits nicely. The small bot is very reminiscent of the Micromasters and Minibots in shape and build.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T8WsMF4fZys/WRyyg-Z1IhI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/y6QoA3bNAn4nRAt0dooxlxJcrq9rol86gCEw/s1600/bludgeona_8625606163_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="488" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T8WsMF4fZys/WRyyg-Z1IhI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/y6QoA3bNAn4nRAt0dooxlxJcrq9rol86gCEw/s640/bludgeona_8625606163_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The tank is very nice, other than a bit of rust on the screws on my copy, I really like him. I like that they integrate their small weapons into their alt modes, him especially. The turret can also rotate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-slhCqqiW-70/WRyyhF_JYQI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/jOprCpGu1t03E_5_WLCoPFaMI6IrP0s3ACEw/s1600/stranglehold-b_12531049004_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-slhCqqiW-70/WRyyhF_JYQI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/jOprCpGu1t03E_5_WLCoPFaMI6IrP0s3ACEw/s640/stranglehold-b_12531049004_o.jpg" width="560" /></a></div>
<br />
Next up is Stranglehold, the he has a Burt Reynolds looking shell, with a mechanical arm. His inner bot has a very nice looking build, would be nice if it had a bit more paint, but I like him as is, the back of the beast becomes an arm shield for the shell.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NWrDykt6CBs/WRyyhIuNjQI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/R_5gc--M9pcvDpiFUFhzeqmYNiAEoIDUgCEw/s1600/stranglehold-a_12531049344_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="514" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NWrDykt6CBs/WRyyhIuNjQI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/R_5gc--M9pcvDpiFUFhzeqmYNiAEoIDUgCEw/s640/stranglehold-a_12531049344_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The inner bot becomes a rhino of sorts. the legs leave a gap that's covered by the arm shield thing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nh5Kqm6Y6no/WRyyb4FgpZI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/VZ3vUf_dHGsW7tP3sv94f-0hkC27NGUKwCEw/s1600/Octopunch%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="612" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nh5Kqm6Y6no/WRyyb4FgpZI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/VZ3vUf_dHGsW7tP3sv94f-0hkC27NGUKwCEw/s640/Octopunch%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Octopunch is the final one of the trio, He's received an update at Botcon, but other than that, he's been in obscurity as far as toys go. His shell is a pretty interesting octopus monster, I really like that they did the head out of the red plastic and kept it from splitting like the other two. His inner bot is pretty neat even with not having a fist hole for the gun. The legs of the crab attach to back of the shell.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The crab mode is pretty cool, has a few articulation points in the claws. he's got a much better alt mode than most of the large Pretenders.<br />

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dPO_ckPm2ag/WPLZAxLHUHI/AAAAAAAAD6o/-d-KTUMLA8Io_8JHUG52yglx4ixCfchLgCLcB/s1600/Megatron%2Band%2BPrime%2Bbanner.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="344" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dPO_ckPm2ag/WPLZAxLHUHI/AAAAAAAAD6o/-d-KTUMLA8Io_8JHUG52yglx4ixCfchLgCLcB/s640/Megatron%2Band%2BPrime%2Bbanner.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a>With the arrival of Megatron, It's about time that I got this review/comparison done. We'll start with Prime, this post is going to be a bit longer than your typical Upgrades post because of the sheer amount of gimmicks and stuff these guys have.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lqOESBXI_UM/WPLZerc3qrI/AAAAAAAAD7A/bqcVwMapSZYsZFjfyCY-KoUN7U3pewSUACEw/s1600/Optimuses%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="310" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lqOESBXI_UM/WPLZerc3qrI/AAAAAAAAD7A/bqcVwMapSZYsZFjfyCY-KoUN7U3pewSUACEw/s640/Optimuses%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In truck mode, they both look great. They replaced the silver sticker with a molded white line to match the animation. I really like that they added the mirrors and the way the smokestacks collapse to make the bottom of them actually go into the truck.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ChlqM1HIEfQ/WPLZfIsZ8nI/AAAAAAAAD7U/pX7ibOb7BhENVI9GYI8KRWu5Jn-dpyhtwCEw/s1600/Spike.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ChlqM1HIEfQ/WPLZfIsZ8nI/AAAAAAAAD7U/pX7ibOb7BhENVI9GYI8KRWu5Jn-dpyhtwCEw/s640/Spike.JPG" width="414" /></a></div>
<br />
Masterpiece Prime comes with a small Spike figure, pretty poseable for his size.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pJxphWaWhH0/WPLb0ZQCObI/AAAAAAAAD7c/GZ-_K9VmA8Q0w99wNGsEe2DnM5QL-gtXACLcB/s1600/Spike%2Binside.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pJxphWaWhH0/WPLb0ZQCObI/AAAAAAAAD7c/GZ-_K9VmA8Q0w99wNGsEe2DnM5QL-gtXACLcB/s640/Spike%2Binside.JPG" width="570" /></a></div>
<br />
Spike can be put in the cab of Prime, he also fits in the drone, roller, and the two side stations in the trailer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H3ZAssh_n88/WPLZdfPkxrI/AAAAAAAAD7U/QepWswQLZ-As3G__R1_XjhmMpA3jo4rQACEw/s1600/Drone%2Btrailer.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="342" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H3ZAssh_n88/WPLZdfPkxrI/AAAAAAAAD7U/QepWswQLZ-As3G__R1_XjhmMpA3jo4rQACEw/s640/Drone%2Btrailer.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The drone still comes out the top of the trailer, but they added a door to close the hole on the masterpiece. It however doesn't have the front hole anymore. You can also see that they added the trailer parking pylons on it. I put the G1 missiles into the masterpiece one since they fit perfectly.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nxnnxCtbXVk/WPLZetgWjkI/AAAAAAAAD7U/hoiSM-GBQnoL-OXpI7lHTnv0OY5WXqn8wCEw/s1600/Roller%2BTrailer.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="462" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nxnnxCtbXVk/WPLZetgWjkI/AAAAAAAAD7U/hoiSM-GBQnoL-OXpI7lHTnv0OY5WXqn8wCEw/s640/Roller%2BTrailer.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Roller can transform the rear end of his vehicle to pull the trailer as well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oGKOoUv4eKI/WPLZeo-IKhI/AAAAAAAAD7U/-s1akQ--A3QQm6m3MfN_5eM6djp2aYFCACEw/s1600/Roller%2Bguns.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oGKOoUv4eKI/WPLZeo-IKhI/AAAAAAAAD7U/-s1akQ--A3QQm6m3MfN_5eM6djp2aYFCACEw/s640/Roller%2Bguns.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
There's a flap on the back of mp Roller that opens so that you can mount the rifle on him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7udBlb9iFQk/WPLZfQ6E5MI/AAAAAAAAD7U/0o1VUfsltRcw4BZTFNz3ALxvX_wXVvA5gCEw/s1600/Trailer%2BBases.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="354" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7udBlb9iFQk/WPLZfQ6E5MI/AAAAAAAAD7U/0o1VUfsltRcw4BZTFNz3ALxvX_wXVvA5gCEw/s640/Trailer%2BBases.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The trailers open into the base mode, the only thing missing is the gas pump and hose from the masterpiece. Roller doesn't fire either, but they did add gun storage and ax storage inside the trailer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kv05bNL1_3g/WPLZdmkcZ7I/AAAAAAAAD7U/GW7IMovoIWAnlEmHjD084GEUzLQ2fL3IACEw/s1600/MP%2BPrimes%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="588" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kv05bNL1_3g/WPLZdmkcZ7I/AAAAAAAAD7U/GW7IMovoIWAnlEmHjD084GEUzLQ2fL3IACEw/s640/MP%2BPrimes%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In robot mode, the Masterpiece is much more detailed, but shares the same basic transformation, just elaborated upon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KlaI7harpck/WPLZdirH2zI/AAAAAAAAD7U/waWPuRCCtXYlRzh_zK9vdJy-6LvY-PRUwCEw/s1600/Gun%2Bstorage.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="520" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KlaI7harpck/WPLZdirH2zI/AAAAAAAAD7U/waWPuRCCtXYlRzh_zK9vdJy-6LvY-PRUwCEw/s640/Gun%2Bstorage.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The gun stores in the back of prime and flips out into gun shape when a button is pushed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2r6F_j2iMo0/WPLZeJ3lB7I/AAAAAAAAD7U/R0p-rzwLKvQfgHowNUykl_nSGOYfeAzSwCEw/s1600/Matrix.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="432" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2r6F_j2iMo0/WPLZeJ3lB7I/AAAAAAAAD7U/R0p-rzwLKvQfgHowNUykl_nSGOYfeAzSwCEw/s640/Matrix.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Prime naturally has the matrix inside. It can be put into Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod, but neither of them come with one.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XzL6qRx8soI/WPLddg97InI/AAAAAAAAD8M/6CIT4VjTSJ0GFyEzlmiEt745SXrZ1x10QCEw/s1600/Megatrons%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="312" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XzL6qRx8soI/WPLddg97InI/AAAAAAAAD8M/6CIT4VjTSJ0GFyEzlmiEt745SXrZ1x10QCEw/s640/Megatrons%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Megatron turns into the Walther P38 just like G1. only they added the working safety, hammer and the heel/butt of the gun in silver. On the Japanese version of him, shown far right here, there was no place to attach the stock or the scope to the gun.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dwzjBa10744/WPLddumltYI/AAAAAAAAD8M/u_q9acq66HMPsPjm8B9277Qimd8osnb7wCEw/s1600/Megatron%2Bguns.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="250" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dwzjBa10744/WPLddumltYI/AAAAAAAAD8M/u_q9acq66HMPsPjm8B9277Qimd8osnb7wCEw/s640/Megatron%2Bguns.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Shown here with the US version of the G1 with the full stock, silencer and scope (I forgot to extend the scope on the MP version, it's late, I might redo that shot later) You can see the MP is pretty close to the original's weapon mode.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7I280UpUdA8/WPLddzvv37I/AAAAAAAAD8M/Zck8NKS6Yd0CLu9TdHPTclRMW0NhPT9BgCEw/s1600/Megatrons%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="490" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7I280UpUdA8/WPLddzvv37I/AAAAAAAAD8M/Zck8NKS6Yd0CLu9TdHPTclRMW0NhPT9BgCEw/s640/Megatrons%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This Masterpiece's transformation blew me away when I first transformed him, still does honestly. I've transformed him at least twenty times, no issues at all, very sturdy. The way the front mid line of the chest is the top center of the gun to start is genius in it's execution, same with how they get the legs out of that thin grip. The bot mode is much more animation accurate than toy accurate, none of the 3p ones came close to what I wanted in a masterpiece until I saw this one. The original owner of my G1 USA Megatron decided he wanted it more animation accurate and coloured a lot of the figure, i actually replaced a few parts with a junker I have here, maybe I'll get to the arms later.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j-zu4dEUN40/WPLddWewLeI/AAAAAAAAD8M/m_2zcaR3XX8gtx_e7Ozi_MacPMP18mCFACEw/s1600/Megatron%2BTurret.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="362" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j-zu4dEUN40/WPLddWewLeI/AAAAAAAAD8M/m_2zcaR3XX8gtx_e7Ozi_MacPMP18mCFACEw/s640/Megatron%2BTurret.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The gun mode accessories still can combine into the Particle Beam Cannon mode, pretty neat that they managed to keep that as close as they did while changing how the stock and silencer transform.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-66BU6LSbEe8/WPLdcRwboSI/AAAAAAAAD8M/Mb4YqiIi6tQEXwz3qvRRpLxiqxtHrr74QCEw/s1600/Gun%2Bface.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="496" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-66BU6LSbEe8/WPLdcRwboSI/AAAAAAAAD8M/Mb4YqiIi6tQEXwz3qvRRpLxiqxtHrr74QCEw/s640/Gun%2Bface.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
They also retained the Telescopic Laser Cannon mode from the original toy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hi6txv1s_bA/WPLddPqE3lI/AAAAAAAAD8M/Ik2BRt1WM3MJ6LdGicWrnpk4kkLDnvhjACEw/s1600/Megatron%2BFlight%2Bstand.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hi6txv1s_bA/WPLddPqE3lI/AAAAAAAAD8M/Ik2BRt1WM3MJ6LdGicWrnpk4kkLDnvhjACEw/s640/Megatron%2BFlight%2Bstand.JPG" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
The stock can also be transformed into a flight stand for Megatron for his classic "Decepticons retreat!" pose.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VYkP_-SeR0I/WPLdcttLm-I/AAAAAAAAD8M/8KTHhiUolZ0DK8fLsHoBoENnkSrms9DpACEw/s1600/Battle%2Bon%2Bthe%2Bbridge.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="412" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VYkP_-SeR0I/WPLdcttLm-I/AAAAAAAAD8M/8KTHhiUolZ0DK8fLsHoBoENnkSrms9DpACEw/s640/Battle%2Bon%2Bthe%2Bbridge.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Megatron and Prime both get their energy weapons from the MTMTE episode. I really like that they added the chain choices, this one with the molded poseable shape, and the other with the regular purple chain.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T8MpNXvdcvo/WPLdce5pxqI/AAAAAAAAD8M/59HrtYl2hBQkw1LBjf6yVyxt3nJQBUaxQCEw/s1600/It%2527s%2Bover%2Bprime.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="586" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T8MpNXvdcvo/WPLdce5pxqI/AAAAAAAAD8M/59HrtYl2hBQkw1LBjf6yVyxt3nJQBUaxQCEw/s640/It%2527s%2Bover%2Bprime.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Obligatory "It's over Prime" shot with the damaged face and chest. He also comes with three undamaged faces including the one on him in the box.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h5hsQmG-0uI/WPLddYsMNII/AAAAAAAAD8M/D74upMvfqxcdk0LOgXO67lW30wBo6JL3QCEw/s1600/MP%2BMegs%2BAccessories.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h5hsQmG-0uI/WPLddYsMNII/AAAAAAAAD8M/D74upMvfqxcdk0LOgXO67lW30wBo6JL3QCEw/s640/MP%2BMegs%2BAccessories.JPG" width="578" /></a></div>
<br />
He comes with a plethora of accessories besides the ones shown, we have a Key to Vector Sigma, drone control helmet, and energy sword, I was kind of disappointed in the price of him, but after having him in hand, I'm glad I dropped the money, he's my favorite Masterpiece since Star Saber.Brr-icyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01885375620574712826noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1969038366983027688.post-56599886984443023302017-03-16T19:42:00.000-07:002017-03-16T19:42:45.995-07:00"Upgrades" Part 19 - Masterpiece Seekers<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
After getting Skywarp yesterday, it's finally time to do a quick Updates post on the trio. There's a lot of extra stuff built into the Masterpiece mold that wasn't on the original, and more gimmicks than you can shake a stick at.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tsvFsCUFdwQ/WMtGdZbNwbI/AAAAAAAAD5E/FOrmlW0Ts9c2seqTYuTgSrRTzId5b-gIQCEw/s1600/MP%2BStarscreams%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tsvFsCUFdwQ/WMtGdZbNwbI/AAAAAAAAD5E/FOrmlW0Ts9c2seqTYuTgSrRTzId5b-gIQCEw/s640/MP%2BStarscreams%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
We'll start with Starscream, I have the Takara Coronation version as I love how over the top he was in the movie with the whole ceremony and whatnot, but I'll get to that later. In jet mode, there's a ton of gimmicks,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The first release of Starscream came with Dr.. Arkeville, and the new Skywarp does as well. Starscream came with this little holo pilot, which on Thundercracker was chromed.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I kept the stands from my MP-03 Starscream and MP-06 Skywarp when I sold them, didn't make sense to sell them off. In bot mode, Starscream very well articulated, and I really like the fact that they made this mold have non removing null rays. The G1 figure has a darker blue, but the show went with the lighter colour that is on the Masterpiece.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qYc2TLsWOYg/WMtGc9LLxnI/AAAAAAAAD5k/Pw9PRaWdam8O4K-W_O1ySL9WLbT1Cxc7gCEw/s1600/MP%2BCoronation.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qYc2TLsWOYg/WMtGc9LLxnI/AAAAAAAAD5k/Pw9PRaWdam8O4K-W_O1ySL9WLbT1Cxc7gCEw/s640/MP%2BCoronation.JPG" width="588" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Because I went Takara, I have this set for his Coronation scene in the movie. I love how they pulled it off with the cape folding in on itself for this mode, and you can make it flung out like when he's yelling about it getting disrupted.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-X2uRPCGj6pw/WMtGeR87VoI/AAAAAAAAD5c/Hq9GGsuBPfgo8a0sv2A5kF4mFiUyDeAhQCEw/s1600/Thundercrackers%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="374" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-X2uRPCGj6pw/WMtGeR87VoI/AAAAAAAAD5c/Hq9GGsuBPfgo8a0sv2A5kF4mFiUyDeAhQCEw/s640/Thundercrackers%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I went for Hasbro TRU release Thundercracker, I love the dark metallic blue of the original toy, and this is fairly close to that. There's some extra tampographs that I would like to remove at some point.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mO1puVHqSkU/WMtGcxyEeCI/AAAAAAAAD5k/OztaHDBxUisDPfoVrRPnScdxPMn4uMkWgCEw/s1600/MP%2BSeekers%2BA%2BGimmicks.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mO1puVHqSkU/WMtGcxyEeCI/AAAAAAAAD5k/OztaHDBxUisDPfoVrRPnScdxPMn4uMkWgCEw/s640/MP%2BSeekers%2BA%2BGimmicks.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The alt mode has a lot of other gimmicks that I didn't mention earlier, like the radar on the front, retractable landing gear, opening engine bays, poseable flaps, and even the airbrake. The original had the opening cockpit for the Diaclone driver. A lot of the original figure was parts forming with the wings, guns, fists, and front landing gear being removable. It's still a nice figure, but there' a pretty big difference in engineering.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qMvwJqo3Xy0/WMtLxUce5eI/AAAAAAAAD50/2ViXjrRnckkzuGMETLO3t0XSyiLblEBagCLcB/s1600/Thundercrackers%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="540" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qMvwJqo3Xy0/WMtLxUce5eI/AAAAAAAAD50/2ViXjrRnckkzuGMETLO3t0XSyiLblEBagCLcB/s640/Thundercrackers%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In bot mode, they both look great, The Hasbro one adds some of the sticker detail to it that is missing on the other two, but I don't want to break down and get the Takara powder blue one,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1WoQkKDeFWU/WMtGdf__QsI/AAAAAAAAD5c/luMxrAqAT5k1AT4C8n2UjnRayF3KRXNeACEw/s1600/Skywarps%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1WoQkKDeFWU/WMtGdf__QsI/AAAAAAAAD5c/luMxrAqAT5k1AT4C8n2UjnRayF3KRXNeACEw/s640/Skywarps%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Skywarp looks amazing I think, between the metallic purple and the black, he's close to the colour I would like on him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hmwqBFbkDd4/WMtGeBag8II/AAAAAAAAD5k/qiYylDuGMm0nZMW4ZZiEADHOmEeuTeIwACEw/s1600/Skywarps%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="532" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hmwqBFbkDd4/WMtGeBag8II/AAAAAAAAD5k/qiYylDuGMm0nZMW4ZZiEADHOmEeuTeIwACEw/s640/Skywarps%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
In bot mode you can really see the purple and just how nice the figure is in general. Nice release by Hasbro Asia, not sure why we didn't get a regular MP release, but I'm glad it's here, now just Dirge to get here and I'm done with the Masterpiece Seekers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kVYJy5F2cGw/WMtMwxzqX8I/AAAAAAAAD58/sZRoLVqFOdIk6UV024OjF1erzRITJ1rJACEw/s1600/MP%2BSeekers%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="328" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kVYJy5F2cGw/WMtMwxzqX8I/AAAAAAAAD58/sZRoLVqFOdIk6UV024OjF1erzRITJ1rJACEw/s640/MP%2BSeekers%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the main reason I needed to keep the stands, being able to pose the figures in flight is pretty cool, plus being able to transform it into a hovering stand for bot mode. I think I might break down and get the set of KO stands for my coneheads, not sure yet though.Brr-icyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01885375620574712826noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1969038366983027688.post-80433744203095928982017-02-22T20:20:00.000-08:002017-02-22T20:26:31.236-08:00"Upgrades" Part 18 Masterpiece Star Saber and KFC SimbaI had to do these two together, Star Saber is my favorite Masterpiece so far, they went above and beyond on the screen accuracy and gimmicks without harming the figure's overall build. Couple him with KFC Simba, and they are amazing together.<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The Masterpiece Brainmaster is much smaller than the original, but much more detailed, articulation is the same minus the the bars between the legs on the vintage. In the show, he walks around as the Brainmaster sometimes, and he always looks like the new one does, I've never seen the original Brain of Courage in the show. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GelxTUTDYUY/WK5Wc7xmXfI/AAAAAAAAD3g/RcmuNeiy1eIK12WrJ_6JyDrVy4kpfQObACEw/s1600/Sabers%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GelxTUTDYUY/WK5Wc7xmXfI/AAAAAAAAD3g/RcmuNeiy1eIK12WrJ_6JyDrVy4kpfQObACEw/s640/Sabers%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The small jet is Saber, he can hold the Brainmasters in the cockpits. the Masterpiece has the back landing gear built into the feet, whereas the Victory piece has them just built into the shins. They got the new ship bang on the animation model. I like that they made the nosecone split in order to hold the sword instead of having a hole there. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5gC1Dx6yBKg/WK5Wc_2GGKI/AAAAAAAAD3g/GzCEHoCRssgB9wOFEyaXwCFD5ASMao1CwCEw/s1600/Sabers%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="462" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5gC1Dx6yBKg/WK5Wc_2GGKI/AAAAAAAAD3g/GzCEHoCRssgB9wOFEyaXwCFD5ASMao1CwCEw/s640/Sabers%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The Brainmasters go into their chests, on the vintage piece, the inner part of the chest of the Brainmaster forms the face of the bot, where the Masterpiece it pushes up a slider face piece, it makes the head actually have articulation. I was surprised they actually added finger articulation to a bot this small. The orignal can use any of the Brainmasters to make the face, something that the new ones won't be able to do since they're built in to the figure. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8iGBDFpE8hI/WK5WdR1XQeI/AAAAAAAAD3g/Pxg7Rtjw49MqUHHST0R8w1z0rUNdmtLXwCEw/s1600/Star%2BSabers%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="310" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8iGBDFpE8hI/WK5WdR1XQeI/AAAAAAAAD3g/Pxg7Rtjw49MqUHHST0R8w1z0rUNdmtLXwCEw/s640/Star%2BSabers%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In full vehicle mode, Star Saber is massive and very futuristic, I love the docking of the small jet with it, and in the show he uses the bigger one as a skiff to ride on, or a ship to rescue civilians, it's called the V-Star. I didn't bother shooting the base mode for it, it's not the best base, lol. On the MP they added rocket clusters underneath the guns on the shoulders. If you watch the transformation sequence in the show, a little part flips up and the sword blade comes out of it to activate the transformation of the V-Star, they even added that on the MP, on both shoulders one for the small bot and one for the large. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eN35ztkEr-M/WK5Wd0Aa86I/AAAAAAAAD3g/l6AGbD0QPUEgL7bD4Gxk-FaZ_8cYHxJmgCEw/s1600/Star%2BSabers%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="548" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eN35ztkEr-M/WK5Wd0Aa86I/AAAAAAAAD3g/l6AGbD0QPUEgL7bD4Gxk-FaZ_8cYHxJmgCEw/s640/Star%2BSabers%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I really like Star Saber's bot mode with Saber forming the chest of him kind of like a Powermaster Prime/Super Ginrai with a flight upgrade. I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of paint on MP saber, with almost all the plastic being molded in the correct colours instead. For the Simba upgrade to be fully functional, I had to get the KFC hands to hold the large gun. but it made the sword much better held, so it was a win/win, and they're not expensive. I love that they added the vents flipping over to be black in this mode and red in jet mode, a touch above and beyond where they had to go. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MGjhARf1lBE/WK5WeEHNB2I/AAAAAAAAD3g/h3FL7qVwBvkoIj4JlNYmR0HU8nteWL7NACEw/s1600/Victory%2BLeos%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="322" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MGjhARf1lBE/WK5WeEHNB2I/AAAAAAAAD3g/h3FL7qVwBvkoIj4JlNYmR0HU8nteWL7NACEw/s640/Victory%2BLeos%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
KFC released their version of Victory Leo to go with Star Saber. In lion mode, he's got a ton more articulation, even the front toes can spread. Mine has the Reprolabels set applied to it which brings out a lot of detail on the figure. I love the tail whip they added to Simba, it always weirded me out that there wasn't one on the G1. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vvRVzYd9wuI/WK5WesGPbpI/AAAAAAAAD3g/iWHiTl5csioe2hsD6EOivyarTpXhHM4mQCEw/s1600/Victory%2BLeos%2BC.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="282" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vvRVzYd9wuI/WK5WesGPbpI/AAAAAAAAD3g/iWHiTl5csioe2hsD6EOivyarTpXhHM4mQCEw/s640/Victory%2BLeos%2BC.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In the show, he had a flight mode that the original toy didn't really pull off too well. The KFC version uses part of the flight stand/shield to make a nosecone that makes the jet mode much more fluid and make more sense. The small guns are mounted on flip out pegs and the handle of the large gun flips in so it can peg into the top nicely. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oeShFK5mvQ0/WK5WeWd9eHI/AAAAAAAAD3o/dccK9hDXKs0PMx5UDBezwrEyDpH1LK3vQCEw/s1600/Victory%2BLeos%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oeShFK5mvQ0/WK5WeWd9eHI/AAAAAAAAD3o/dccK9hDXKs0PMx5UDBezwrEyDpH1LK3vQCEw/s640/Victory%2BLeos%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In bot mode he's bigger than the original. I really like that they kept the arm mounted cannons and waist large gun. The original's large gun fired orange missiles, they weren't added into the new one. His gatling guns do extend though, so there's that. His hands came fully articulated so there was no need for them to be upgraded. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e7So4W7a7mU/WK5WfTc_xfI/AAAAAAAAD3g/57fbAJlhpVI0FReaJ7cIdgrqPcDYmWtGQCEw/s1600/Victory%2BSabers%2BA.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="316" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e7So4W7a7mU/WK5WfTc_xfI/AAAAAAAAD3g/57fbAJlhpVI0FReaJ7cIdgrqPcDYmWtGQCEw/s640/Victory%2BSabers%2BA.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The jet modes can combine into a super jet of sorts, I actually had to get a bigger lightbox area to be able to get this shot. I love this mode. It's almost two feet long and about 18 inches from wing tip to wing tip on both figures. The new versions come with a pair of flight stands to make them sit around six inches off the ground, very solidly. The connection is very solid on both, with the vintage having sliding hooks that hook in the foot cut out, and the MP having two spring loaded clips in the same place that lock more solidly than I would have imagined. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WtHG9yeNxRc/WK5WfsmdHlI/AAAAAAAAD3o/Y2yitt5mdr0FVCCd3LTuoI73o-8Su6v1wCEw/s1600/Victory%2BSabers%2BB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WtHG9yeNxRc/WK5WfsmdHlI/AAAAAAAAD3o/Y2yitt5mdr0FVCCd3LTuoI73o-8Su6v1wCEw/s640/Victory%2BSabers%2BB.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Finally, Victory Saber. he is massive, The vintage one just barely fits in a detolf shelf. the new one doesn't. Maybe when the new joints for the knees come out, he will fit nicer in a pose. There is more heel on the MP version than the vintage, probably because of the extra size on Simba. there's a ton of articulation points they didn't need to add, the wings can raise at the base, the tips can swivel, two points on the mounts for the shoulder cannons etc. The only draw back to the new one is the small shield that splits to cover his feet in combined mode and lock everything together, the vintage's solution to that was ingenious, with the plates that slid out of the legs and snapped over Star Saber's wheels. All in all, two of my favorite figures from G1 and Masterpiece. hope you enjoyed my mini review.<br />
