G1 City aka, an afternoon with my toys

A few months back when Grandus first arrived, I decided that I wanted to build a city. I had my friend M over, and we went to town so to speak. It took us around six hours all together to take everything out of the shelves, transform to base mode, and put back after. But it was fun. The only base mode G1 figures that are missing from the shots are Grand Maximus, Black Zarak, and Galaxy Shuttle.

We even hung some of the fliers from the ceiling. We populated the city with all of myy Micromasters and a couple combiner limb helicopters to fill up the helipads.

We built an airfield on the one side to make use of all the airplane Micros.

Big Powered's base mode

We constructed Zone Base from the show as well, but added Sky Hyper and Landshaker to it.

The construction site was fun to make, and it made more sense for the construction vehicles to have a place to be other than driving wherever.

The harbor. Same deal as the construction site. Boats would have had to be in bot mode.

We even used Hun-Grr's "cancelled" base mode. Looks more like an ice cream dispenser to me.

a section we dubbed Kaon

This was the police and rescue station we built in Grandus

Which was all connected to Sky Garry and Star Convoy in the RoC base mode.

M wanted to made a little drag race behind Dai Atlas like a back street race, complete with cotton ball smoke.

Even Ultra Magnus' one base mode (found via image search, wasn't the one I wanted, but it'll do (I wanted the one from the diaclone instructions) and Star Saber's base mode were included.

It was a fun day. Maybe once I pick up Grand Max and a custom Black Zarak, I'll do this again. I was reminded of these pics from a mention by Megamus in Transformers For Your Listening Pleasure's Gidgets and Gadgets episode last week, Figured it would give me a chance to do something different with the blog than a straight up review today.

  5. Ah yeah, I saw this pics on your Flickr a while back. Beautiful. This is pretty much what I dreamed of making with my Micromasters as a kid. (I wonder if Star Convoy gets uncomfortable sitting like that all day?)

  7. Vintage Teddy bears have grown in popularity over the past hundred years. What makes this children's toy so popular among adults? Famous teddy bears
