Pretender Skyhammer

Got this guy and most of Roadblock in the mail today. Pretty neat, the GPS really cripples him though.

"Upgrades" Part 2

This will be an ongoing series, but not all in line, just felt like doing the other four that I had in mind for the first one, but didn't want to write up at the time.

"Upgrades" Part 1

Within the toylines of Transformers, we normally get new figures of old characters, whether it be in their original bodies, or something way out there that makes little sense. In this series of posts that I'll randomly throw in from time to time, we'll check out a few of them. If a character is featured once, it doesn't mean they won't get another one later on with another line.

Operation Combination Sixbuilder Comparison

Another year, another TFcon, got to meet up with most of the people I was trying to, missed Angry Canadian Decepticon though, we'll get to meet up sometime. Picked the vintage version of this guy up at the show. It ended up being one of like three G1 pieces I grabbed, pretty light on the vintages for me.

Operation Combination Sixtrain Comparison

Got this today, the only piece I secured from HD's Operation Combination sales. Very impressed with the condition, and happy to have him. I was blown away on how many differences there were between the vintage and the reissue. The reissue was released in Japan as Sixtrain, and in KB Toys over here as Rail Racer with no changes.

Autobot Triplechangers: Broadside, Sandstorm, and Springer

While not quite as much of a three home run set as the Decepticon set, I still really like all three of these guys. Decent colours, neat transformations, and a more late G1 feel keep them in the running as a good subgroup.

Decepticon Triplechangers: Astrotrain, Blitzwing, and Octane

These guys are still ranked at the top of triplechanging engineering in my opinion, being as both alt modes are good. Sure there's minor things like Astrotrain's rockets, or the cockpit on Blitzwing, but they all look good, the classics versions on the other hand have huge sacrifices to the alt modes which really bring them down in my eyes, like half a train hanging over the wings on the shuttle, which would effectively render it incapable of flight.
